3 gallons of bleach gone overnight

Our pool was clear and perfect a few weeks ago. Went out of town for a week and I shocked it before leaving hoping all would be well. I return to zero chlorine. 6.0 ph and 0 cya. Yesterday added stabilizer so cya is high now but also added 3 gallons of chlorine and 64 ounces of ph up (per tfp recommendations). This morning there is no chlorine and ph is 6.5. Maybe a phosphorus problem or am I missing something? 3 gallons gone!

Ok, I want you to add enough liquid chlorine to reach 10 ppm and let the pump run to mix it in. After 15 minutes check the FC. If you have lost more than 1/2 the FC in that time you will need to follow the
SLAM Process process, only check the FC every 15 minutes and to back to slam level until the FC starts to hold.

What is your current CYA? If you see granules on the floor of the pool you will need to brush the pool frequently. Do you have a vinyl liner or plaster surface pool?

EDIT: If you can answer Poolstored's questions that will be helpful too!

You should use the sock method to add cya. not a good idea to put the granule's directly in the skimmer

It doesn’t look like my reply posted.
I haven’t done a full test for a few days but here’s this:
PH—6.5
Chlorine—after adding a gallon this morning it’s 3.5
Cya—was zero yesterday so added per tfp recommendations and now 70
No granules on the bottom of the pool or in the skimmer or anywhere so seems to have dissolved completely.

Add another 5ppm of liquid chlorine now. Don't add anything else. Test after sunset. If you are below 3, add enough liquid chlorine to get to 5-7ppm. Run the pump for 30 minutes, retest.

After sunset, and your FC is above 3, Do this test tonight...Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

You have this in your signature.

Healthcare system with copper ions (but running it very low)

Can you remove it? Copper can cause staining and is pain to deal with copper in the pool.

Sorry, to be clear, can you remove the healthcare system from your pool? It adds copper. Copper is no bueno in el poolo.

We would have to research how to do that—not sure. We were told the low levels of copper, along with chlorine, would help aid sanitation and keep all levels steady. I’ve been ignoring their advice to keep chlorine at 1.0 since that caused algae last year. I’m certainly ready to just turn it off and not use it.

Pool volume is 27000. I used the tfp calculator and it told me to add 8 lbs of cya to raise from 0-40. I added 8 lbs yesterday and cya is good at 50 for now.
A cya of 50 is better- in post #7 you stated 70. I thought maybe you overshot it because your pool was smaller than you thought. For future reference if you think you might need to slam don’t raise cya beyond 30/40. As the cya increases so does the necessary slam fc level.
