My Active 30I Dolphin will not connect to the WiFi. About 2 months ago it started disconnecting I could always get it connected again, unplugging power, deleting app downloading it again or combination of both. Now it just plain will not even recognize the bot. I have contacted Medtronic’s support today. Any others had this problem or no what the fix is? The bot is useless at this point at least it lasted a little over 3 years for products these days that’s not to bad LOL I kept the old Polaris it’s from 2001 still works imagine that. BTW I do miss the bot it does clean the and entertain the Dog.

Dave,

When you push the on button on the power supply, does the button light up, but the robot does not work, or is the light on the power supply off?

Thanks,

Jim R.
The light would light up the bot went for maybe 20 seconds then just stop. I checked the impeller no blockage now the light just blinks kind of dimmer nothing else.

I have it unplugged and in the cradle now Probably have to go into the shop, still haven’t heard from support plus with the holidays might be a couple days.

From Maytronics Support, I'll try all this

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm sorry you're experiencing issues connecting to the app.
First, please reset your internet router and power supply unit by following these troubleshooting steps:

1. Disconnect your internet router, wait for 15 seconds, and reconnect it.
2. Disconnect the black cable from the outlet and wait for about 30 seconds.
3. Reconnect it to the outlet and try to turn on the power supply.
4. Disconnect the blue cable from the power supply, turn the power supply on.
5. Wait for about 30 seconds, reconnect the blue cable while verifying it is well plugged and not harmed or damaged.

Next, I would suggest deleting and re-installing the app, making sure you have allowed the pop-up notification "Allow while the app is working". Make sure you have enabled all operating conditions needed for the app to work properly (Location Services, Bluetooth, 3G/4G, or Wi-Fi with at least 60% in signal strength).

Verify that your Wi-Fi network is set on 2.4GHz only and not on 5GHz or dual-band.

You can always turn the robot on using the manual power button on the power supply unit. If the robot still doesn't turn on, there may be a different issue.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Waiting to hear from you,

Still no luck with the WiFi but I did get it start manually. Investigating our Router it's dual band 2'4GHz & 5GHc. Trying to get the bot power supply to recognize the WiFi it'd the App say our WiFi is 5GHz but what I can't understand the App always worked with the our router same router we have had at least 3 years. I do realize they say it won't connect with 5GHz or dual band worked before

Can you share how you got it working manually? Others reading this in the future with the same problem might need help.

Are you able to connect to the power supply using Bluetooth? I wonder if either it or your router had a software update recently.

You could also try using a smartphone to create a WiFi hotspot and see if the power supply is able to connect to that instead.

Honestly I don't know what I did to get it to start working manually. Today I disconnected the power cord from the power supply to the bot so I had cord 100% disconnected, checked all the pins for continuity on the cord all was good connected everything back up to the bot. Then checked the 120Ac cord all was good. Then when I tested it it would worked less the WlFi feature. The local pool shop that's authorized service for maytronics changes $85 for diagnostic check. BTW they have no Idea what's going with WiFi.

What router do you have? Are you able to create 2 wifi networks on it? One can be created for only 2.4 ghz. The other could be dual band or 5 ghz. Or think of it as the guest network (2.4 ghz) and the home network (5 ghz).

You could then attach most of your IoT (internet of things) devices to the guest network and any of your visitors. The home network is exclusively for you and your family or other devices that could use 5 ghz

Thanks I'll look into that. I can take that bot apart and put it back together no problem but that Black Magic WiFi stuff i'm lost. I'll ask my son to look or the neighbors 10 year old

You might try taking out the motor assembly and opening it up. A common failure mode for these robots is for a shaft seal to fail on the motor assembly and for water to leak into it. All of the control electronics are inside the motor assembly. If the circuit board gets wet, it’s easy for things to short out. My robot eventually failed due to a leaky drive shaft seal. The control board had clear signs of water damage.
