I have an old Hayward s 240 side mount filter and the multiport is cracked and and is leaking, I bought a new multiport valve and it does not fit, the tubes going into the filter body are too far apart ( about 1"). did Hayward update the design? is the older model valve still available? Do I need to replace the filter?

You may have ordered a backwash valve for a DE filter. They could have updated there ports.
