Woah 😳 That’s alottta foam lol 😆
Maybe go with 1/2 next time & see what u get. If u have been using AQ you probably don’t have much funk for the Ahhsome to be used up by as well as the fact there’s basically some already in the water.
You can use a skim net & scoop the extra foam off & dump it in the yard - it will dissipate & a little rinse will get it gone.
I no longer use the full amount of Ahhsome either - between my soft water & lack of biofilms a 1/2 dose gets plenty foamy.

Yeah, I had the premeasured packets. Hit it with the hose on spray knocked it down til the pumps went off.

Filling now. New pump worked great. Glad I kept the 100 foot backwash hose.

Wipe it with paper towels & a microfiber cloth as it accumulates.
I usually do two purges for that reason but still end up with a little residual after.
I usually let it sit a while after the 1st purge has been cleaned up then add a dab more ahhsome (1/2 dose or less) & go some more.

Hello JoeSelf: When using the Aqua Clarity on a weekly basis and you are planning to purge and drain on a specific day you can just not add the Aqua Clarity in the week you are planning to purge. The pre packaged Ahh-Some single use pack is good for hot tubs up to 450-500 gallons. If your tub is smaller you can use less Of the gel. Mdragger88 is correct when she says that you will typically get very little biofilm from hot tubs that have been using the Aqua Clarity product. You can also purge less often when using Aqua Clarity. Many users are going 9 months instead of 6 months before purging. Foam really doesn't matter when you are purging and draining. Simple spray it with a garden hose to knock it down or simply turn the pumps off for 5 minutes. You want some foaming when purging. Foam is your friend when purging. Based on your images Joe I would also use less gel the next time. The good thing now is that your plumbing should be really clean.

I didn't add AQ this week. Checked my logs and last add was 2 weeks ago. Maybe next time I'll go half packet, run, let it sit for a while, run again. If needed I can add more and run the jets.

I use AQ and still use a full dose of Ahhsome gel when purging. I really do not get much of any biofilm when purging anymore. I get a boat load of foam when purging, but who cares, it helps to carry anything that does come loose up to the surface so I can get rid of it.

When I add AQ weekly I keep my CH in the 300 range and I use less AQ then recommended (1 oz in a 350 gal tub) otherwise I get a lot of foaming. Using one ounce has kept my water clear, and reduced my CL demand, so it works for me. You need to play around until you find the sweet spot for your tub, water, and usage patterns.
