I am looking to drain my pool for closing. This is what I have for my backwash. But when I bought the back wash hose (1 1/2”) to drain, the hose is too small.

Am I missing something here? I have the clamp. But Do I need a pipe to reduce? Or is there an actual pvc fitting I need?

You need a barbed fitting
Something like these

If your backwash hose is thin & flexible & attaches with a hose clamp

Otherwise- show us your backwash hose

Either one should have them- you may need to add a small piece of pvc & a male adapter to attach it to your valve fitting - the one you posted looks to be a slip fitting (not threaded)
