So we are looking at a pool monitoring system for the Hotel. We are wanting a system that monitors Ph, Alk, and Chlorine. Anyone know of a good dependable accurate system? We had someone from EcoLab come in and talk with me about one but they want $1500 a month. Their big selling point is that they monitor the pool as well and can make changes to keep the pool in limits. But we are here all the time so we don't really need the service but that did get me looking into pool monitoring systems. So if you have any info I would be grateful to hear it.
 
PH and Chlorine are fairly common to be monitored commercially. I’ve never heard of an Alk monitor associated with an electronic system and I’d be surprised if there is one as it’s typically not a parameter that needs to be measured and adjusted as frequently as PH and FC. I was never a fan of the Eco offering but that’s another story. Two commonly used setups for commercial use are BecSys and Siemens Strantrol (Evoqua more recently) controllers. Both will use a PH and ORP probe to monitor parameters and dose acid and chlorine. Most frequently those controllers will work with either a Cal Hypo erosion feeder or liquid chlorine dispensing systems.
