Hello TFP members,

I decided to share my pool experience with the forum that has provided me with such great information. Hopefully, my experience will be of some value. I am in the southern Maryland area. A little background...backyard had a double slope. Had to install a large retaining wall to prepare the area for a pool. Actually did the retaining wall first due to the degree of the slope. So far so good. Still a lot of work to go, but enjoying the process. Please provide any feedback or recommendations.

Pool specs
18 x 36 rectangle
3.5 to 7 feet deep
No spa
Steps in shallow in and 6ft bench in deep end
Did not pick out coping or finalize pavers for deck

Outstanding Items to purchase
Heat pump (leaning toward Raypak 8450)
Safety cover (mesh or solid, not sure)

Quick update on pool progress...tile and coping finished. My county requires an electric bonding grid under the pool decking. This was placed right under the pavers. Had the landscaping returned to normal with seed and straw. Going with Diamond Brite Super Blue plaster. This should be installed in a few days.IMG_0132.JPGIMG_0131.JPGIMG_0078.JPGIMG_0022.JPGIMG_0014.JPGIMG_9996.JPGIMG_9988.JPGIMG_0135.JPG

Finally getting around to posting final pool pics. We are extremely happy with the results. It was well worth the wait. I forgot to mention that we went with a gas heater at the last minute. Made the call right before the pavers were laid. We got about 2 months of swim in this year. Enjoy pics and good luck on your pool projects! Any questions let me know.IMG_0306 2.JPGIMG_0292 2.JPGIMG_C98622773DF3-1.jpeg

For those in certain areas that require an electrical bonding grid around the pool, this is what it looks like. Code in my country requires this around the pool and under the decking to reduce risk of electrical shock.IMG_0077 2.JPG
