I'm on the Seacoast and I have closing scheduled for 9/28. Water temp should be below 60 by then. Meanwhile, still expecting some swimming time.

Thanks for the links I've read through them as well as reviewed instructions from the equipment that I have.

Process I have drain pool below bubble Jets. This will expose the sundeck. Use shop vac or air compressor hooked into the pump. Blowout main drain then close shut off valve . Blowout skimmers then seal with rubber stoppers, put piece of noodle in skimmer to allow for ice expansion. Remove bubble Jets cover with hole in it blowout bubble Jets and install sealed cover turn off valve to bubble Jets. Blowout return lines and seal with rubber stoppers.

Blow out line to deck Jets.

I'm not sure the best way to seal deck Jets in the concrete decking? I could not find anything from the manufacturer pentair on how to winterize?

Do I have to do anything with lights? I don't think they'll be exposed to air but they'll probably be close enough that they will freeze.

When pool water is below 60° raise chlorine level to slam and cover pool.

Does sound about right? I also read that some people use antifreeze and lines and others don't what's the best practice? Seems like cheap insurance to put a little in the skimmer, bubble lights and deck Jets lines.

You may not have seen the link below. It explains some of the areas you were asking about. Care for lighting can vary, deck jets perhaps a winterizing plug. Gizmo in the skimmer and perhaps some cut-up pool noodles as well as back-up? Who is blowing out the lines? If you, what are you planning to use? @ajw22 can expand some more I'm sure.

What model pool lights do you have? Anything in the light installation manual about winterization?

What model Pentair deck jets?

I have pentair globrite and intellibrite lights led lights. I couldn't find anything in manual about winterization.

PENTAIR MAGICSTREAM Deck Jet II I think I can unscrew them and put a stopper in place.

I plan to blow the lines by making a dummy cover for the pool pump that I can attach shop vac too.

Thanks

Just leave the lights in their niche. Nothing to do.

That should work.

Funny thing reading up on my pentair lights I see my PB just installed them directly into PVC pipe and didn't use the niche. Hope that's ok.

What sort of cover do you have? If it’s one that lets water through then be careful of your sunshelf. If there are any spots where water can puddle, if the puddled water freezes/thaws, it can delaminate the plaster and/or turn it a brownish color. Ask me how I know. If you have a non mesh cover or your shelf is properly plastered so it is very smooth or all sloping ever so slightly toward the pool, you are good.

It's mesh recommended by several people in my area. How much below sun deck should I drain?

Also tested shop vac it can blow the main drain as well as all other lines..... Yes.
