Smorobot X10 review

ah, I see now there are 2 versions - one that climbs and one that doesn't. Yeah, I think the hole drilling trick was just for the climbers that got stuck at the waterline.

I hope these work out for you. I posted about them several months ago before they went on Kickstarter but never had enough courage to make the purchase.

Received replacement X10 yesterday. So far ran a standard and a fast run. No problems so far! I've determined the fast "F" run is useless. Stops in 1 hr 20 minutes thinking it cleaned the pool. It spends a lot of time on the ramp from shallows to deep. I think the kidney shaped pool with large radii on the bottom confuses its programming. The standard "S" setting does a good job. It seems to get everywhere deep and shallow. Stops at 3 hrs 40 minutes. Charged in same time. Didn't get stuck on drains in either run! Love the filters! Glad it has a 2 year warranty!

They haven't sent me a return lable for the old one yet. It's been turned off with all it's lights on for a week!

Hopefully they forget about the return and you can keep the other one for spares. It would be interesting to pull it all apart and see what they've done on the inside. Having a spare battery pack itself is probably worth it even if everything else on it is a dud. Rechargeable batteries are ridiculous nowadays.

Off topic, but I had purchased some DeWalt tools last year and one of them came with their 60V/20V 9mAh FlexVolt battery ... retail cost of that battery is over $180. The battery died on me about a month ago with only light use over the past year. Thankfully when I contacted DeWalt and gave them all the info, they're going to replace it under warranty. Honestly, the batteries nowadays cost more than the tools ...

Glad you got your replacement, and it’s working fine, I agree with you regarding the “F” fast option, I don’t use it either, gave it a try just to see what it did, won’t be using it again, I charge mine to 7 solid green and select standard “ S” so it just does a 3 hour run on the floor, does a great job picking up the desert debris, I use the ultra fine basket.

After 2 or 3 runs with the replacement, decided to return it to Amazon. Just doesn't like the large radii in my pool. Kept going over the same areas, barely any time in shallow end, and flipped over today and after that has the lights on with power switch off issue. Sure wish they'd work out the bugs, since battery life is awesome.

The SMOROBOT is NO-MO-ROBOT … 😂

Yup. Sounds like it’s definitely still in the beta Guinea pig tester phase … thanks for taking the time to review it and post that here. Helps a lot.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you.
My X11 is still going strong 🤞🏻apart from the one time I got the red light shut off, it’s been doing a great job of scooping up all the beasties that make their way to the bottom of the pool, especially after Sundays deluge, the fast charging time and run time you get is really impressive. I like the fact that I can run HMS Betty(Betta2) and Ernie(X11) at the same time, a big plus in my opinion.

I agree, no cable is the only way to go. May try the X11 some point in the future. My Aquabot still does the corded job in the meantime.

Today I received the fast charger, a standard basket and an ultra fine basket, these were freebies when I bought the X11 via kickstarter, so I have two of each baskets.
Next time I charge the X11 I will use the faster charger so I can assess the difference in charging time, and to see just how hot it gets,
if it’s anything like the standard charger it’s going to glow red 😯

How good does yours collect dirt and silt? I've run my X11 a few times and it seems to stir it up but not really capture any in the baskets. I've tried both the standard and the fine and both seem to have the same result. My back yard is largely unfinished and my dog loves to swim which means a fair bit of dirt.

Mine good at very fine dust. Make sure the filter is between the 2 ribs. Might make sure the fan is sending lots of water out the top.

Filter has been between the ribs. I do see the fan move lots of water but usually only when it's doing the walls or turning. Otherwise the fan seems to be a little lazy. Let me try it again today on standard not fast mode and see. For reference, this was in my pool a few hours after the X11 ran on fast mode.

You might run OCLT to make sure you don't have algae. Should pick up that stuff.

My ultra fine basket picks up pretty much everything, loads of desert dirt, leaves and little beasties, it does a better job than my dolphin S300i ever did.

Greetings! I'm considering to buy a robotic cleaner and seeking for some advice. 1) Between dolphins and smorobt, which one would you recommend? 2) As of cleaning ability, efficiency, quality and design, etc. which way do you think Smorobot would beats a Dolphin? 3) Any problems you met on your X11? Many thanks
