What would make the bolts on the volute of my Polaris pb4-60 booster pump and spray water

Is there a verb missing after "pump?" Like "come loose."
If the volute to pump is spraying water, the o-ring seal between the volute and the plate has failed, come loose, or otherwise allow water to pass.
Part #2 on page 12 of the manual.
Yes I'm sorry, One of the Volute bolts is broken off causing the o ring to poke out. It happened all of a sudden. It's like the pressure built up causing one if the bolts to snap making it leak.
