Tighten down sand filter head to reservoir without flange clamp?

I have nooo clue where my flange clamp is for my intex sand filter. I had some ratcheting clamps (4" and 6") and unfortunately there isn't enough surface to grip on to hold the top onto the sand reservoir. I have a replacement on order but that may take nearly two weeks, so any other tricks? Maybe ratcheting safety rope around height of filter?
 
For two weeks, I would add one gallon of bleach and find a way to move the water around the pool. For me, I would use my robot since it pushes a lot of water out of its vents. Another method would be to use a sump pump I have on hand.
