Spots In Pool

In 2021, we had a pool built in Central Florida, which has been maintained weekly by a pool service. On Saturday, I noticed dark circles throughout the pool and used my TF-Pro kit to test the water. I believe based on my test results this may be caused by low TA. Here are my results:

FC: 2.5
TA: 40
CYA: 30
BOR: 0
PH: 7.2
CH: 325
Salt: 3000
CSI: -0.85
Temp: 84

Unfortunately, we are not in Florida full-time. Therefore, not able to maintain the pool ourselves.

I also added pictures of the pool light casings, which show corrosion.BF6D7FFF-71A9-44FC-A440-9A412D4735FC.jpegB8ABEEB2-51E4-46ED-9229-0566595A587E.jpegA6C117DF-E698-4FA0-B97D-F1AECCD531E5.jpeg2E4EEC2D-BC1C-49C2-811A-81442B446A7D.jpeg

I would recommend you try the following:
a - Rub a Vitamin C tablet on it
b - Rub a chlorine tablet on it

Interesting the spots appear to be perfectly circular in nature. I wonder if this pool service added something unusual as well. While your TA is low, I would be surprised if that's the culprit. But I would go ahead and increase the TA by about 20 ppm to be safe. The FC is a bit low, so you should add a little chlorine to get it up to about 5-6 ppm for now.

Thank You! The pool service added PoolRX about 8 months ago.

For the light trim ring to be so discolored in only a year indicates some unhealthy low pH or TA. I've only seen it happen that fast in pools that use tablets almost exclusively. Your 40 TA should be at least 80. Water "wants" to be alkaline and will get its alkalinity where ever it can if we don't feed it.

This was my thinking as well. I have a meeting with my pool maintenance company to discuss further. Thank You!
