Spa Timer - IntelliCenter Intermatic

Hey Folks -

We have a new pool which is all Pentair. The brains is a

Pentair IntelliCenter i10PSIC60

We occasionally rent out out guest house and include the Pool & Spa. We manage the Spa with our iPhone when the guests want to use it.
We're going to Europe for a couple of weeks and won't be able to do this. It's clear that people just ask to have the Spa turned on and some times have it on for hours and don't use it ... so we need a timer to prevent the waste of the resoruces.

The question I have is that public / hotel pools have the Intermatic timers. Tried to find some article how to connect it to a IntelliCenter but couldn't find one.

Any info on how to connect the Intermatic to an Intellicenter will be much appreciated!

Or if there's a different approach I'm all ears!

Thanks

Hilmi

It is not as simple as using an Intermatic timer because what you need to do is trigger the IntelliCenter board to turn the valve actuators, tun on the pump, and turn on the heater when you want the spa ON and the reverse when you want it OFF.

Here is a hack to consider...

- Install a IS4 Spa Remote Control hidden somewhere. That no gives you the SPA button to turn the SPA on and off.
- Put a SwitchBot Smart Switch Button Pusher on top of the SPA button
- Now you can use WIFI to turn the SPA on and off.
- Use Alexa or Google Home for your guests to turn the spa on
- I think you can use IFTTT to set a timer to press the button to turn it off after a certain time.

Lots of moving parts and details to be worked out but that is the general outline.

Let's see if @rstrouse @MyAZPool @Turbo1Ton has simpler ideas.

I agree an egg timer is the way to go. I think OP does not have any way for the renter to turn on the spa locally, other than at the panel. I would set an egg timer and I would either post instructions on how to turn on the spa from the panel, or install the IS4 remote so that they can turn on the spa with a button. Then if they are in long enough that the egg timer times out, they can restart it.

I actually have a Spa Control that I haven't connected yet - the conduit is run. So I'll get that installed before I take off.

I'll figure out how to program an egg timer an attach it to the Spa to set it to 30 mins.

This is exactly that I was looking for - Thanks guys!

Set the egg timer under settings/circuits. Expand the spa circuit and you will see a fields for setting the time of the egg timer.

Finally got a chance to test it and it works as a charm. It also explains why the circulation pump gets shutoff when I occasionally let it on after high usage (many kids). The default egg timer is set to 12 hours I found out.

Thanks again!
