Anyone try a multi-tool oscillator for cutting PVC

Hi TFP,

I have a multi-tool oscillator with PVC attachment. Will this work for cutting 2" sched 40 PVC? It's a tight spot to access. I also have a PVC foldable knife if that's better.

The 2" pipe may be too robust for your knife......not sure what type knife you have.

The oscillator should go right through it, tho

Thanks. I wasn't sure because this tool wasn't suggested on the TFP website for an option for cutting PVC. Great to know an oscillator will do the job. Thanks.

I used mine on 1.5" pipe in place and it was a snap. I too had a tight space, premarked my squared up line and cut away.

Probably the odd man out here, but i use a sawzwall with a demo blade or hand saw for "sensitive" work. The oscillating tool didn't have a large enough blade to go through the pipe from od to od.

Ok...
The questions was "does it work with an multi-tool oscillator"... yes it does... I used it becuase the demo blade I had on my reciprocating saw was chipping the PVC... the reciprocating saw with a blade for either plastics or metal performs way better than the multi-tool oscillator. BTW, I once cut a 1.5" pipe with a dremmel with carbide disks (there was no space to use any other tool)... not easy but works.

Depending on how tight you're talking, these things will get nearly anywhere and work like a charm. You can get then at the big box stores also.
