Hi, I posted last week when my pool was dark green (first year owning a pool). I got a lot of great advice and am happy to report the pool is now clearish and blue! Shallow end is pretty clear. I can make out the main drain through 8+ feet of water. I don't think anyone would call it "crystal clear" however, so I know there is still work to be done. It is getting clearer each day. Is it just a matter of letting the filter do it's job and backwashing every so often?
Here are my current levels. I was SLAMing (or at least attempting it, might not have been perfect) but plan to let the FC levels drop a little now that everything is looking good. Unless someone suggest something else.
CYA - 30-40 (so I guess 40?)
FC - 10
CC - 0
pH - 7.5
TA - 130
CH - 190
Aside from being colorblind (had my wife help with the colors), I actually have really good eyesight otherwise. At one point I was 20/10, probably not that good anymore as I'm getting older. I bring that up to ask if that matters at all as it relates to CYA and the black dot? I'm pretty sure I could BARELY make out the black dot at 30, but it started fading out way before that. I wish there was a more concrete way of knowing this value, since it seems so vital.
