Semi in-ground noticed a lot of rust when replacing liner

Depends what materials pools walls were made of.

@jimmythegreek what do you think about a 3 year old pool with rust on the walls?

Why the liner was due so early? I would be upset with that much rust for a new pool like this, was in grounded properly, was there a liner locker? My pool is from 1994 and I had less rust when I changed the liner but my pool is not salt thought.
You need to take care of that rust before the new liner is getting in. They need to remove some of the rust and put a good primer on it. Since this is semi in ground this top rust is not from ground water and really from the pool salt water getting there. Make sure the water level is kept at the right level and the the liner locker is properly secured to that less water gets to your walls.

It’s our 3rd liner. Pool company was awful from day 1.

So I hired a new company. They didn’t seem bothered by the rust. Guy looked at me and basically said “it’s salt water duh”. Probably another dud pool company. Liner already reinstalled so nothing I can do about it now.

Are the walls galvanized steel?

Contact the manufacturer of the walls and ask them about it.

That's way too much rust for 3 years.

What was wrong with the first two liners?

Who's paying for the liners?

Before I'd go down the path of warranty replacement and installation of the walls (basically building your pool all over again), I'd try some Naval Jelly on the rusted areas. Given the age of the pool I'm sure its just surface rust.
