I cannot believe it. What kind of human being would do this Crud? Ugh so livid and disappointed right now. I woke up this morning to my pool with dog poo, sand, dog food, rocks and other debris in my pool and deck. Their 8 yr old kids were playing in the trampoline and threw all this junk over. Pool guy is coming over to treat it in the morning. My husband took out as much of the junk in the pool the best that he could. Turned off the pump and cleaned out the skimmer which was filled with dog food. Anything else we could do in the meantime? This is a new pool too only 2 yrs. Should we drain a bit of the water? Gross. Just thinking about makes my stomach ill.

Sorry, I think the sites language filter is changing some of your words - are you saying they threw dog poo in the pool?
I don't think you need to drain anything in any case. I would just bring your FC up to SLAM level and keep it there until you get everything out of the pool.
Kids....

So sorry this happened to y’all ☹️
Did u bag it up & return it? I would be livid!
As for the pool - removal & slam level should do the trick FC/CYA Levels
Oh that's a great idea. Bag it up and return it to their parents.

I sorry for what was done to your pool.

No need to drain anything. Just remove the solids you can, vacuum rest to waste and increase your FC to SLAM level.
Other than the clean up and unsightly surprise not much of harm was done to the pool. With proper chlorine levels pool can take quite some abuse.

Hope your pool guy dresses like Bill Murray.

All kidding aside, I’d definitely have a conversation with the parents. Depending on how well you know them, you may want to also speak directly to the kids. See if the parents will allow you to have them “clean” the pool. Clean in quotes because we know 8 year olds won’t really clean it, but make them work for an hour or 2.

Vacuum to waste and SLAM Process will take care of the immediate damage. But this needs to be discussed with the parents. I agree with them paying for the pool guy. They need to know what their Little Darlings are doing while at play, and what they consider to be appropriate toys.

At the very least the Mater and Pater need to know the Little Darlings should wash their hands... frequently. :pukel:

GURRRRRRRRRRRRRR and would SO take a bag of the poo over to them and hand it to them without saying a word. Just stand there holding it with a bill from the pool guy.
Or else they will do it again! It’s vandalism…

Yes. Those little demons knew exactly what they were doing and vandalized it. My husband took the dad over to see the damage and he immediately turned red in the face. He had the girls come over to see what they did, scolded them and made them apologize to my husband. He said the daughter looked sorry but her cousin who was with her did not. So I assume she was the mastermind to all of this mess. The dad did apologize and said he would pay for the cleaning. Let's see if he really does. My neighbors are actually only renting the home and don't really maintain it. As you can see, they fail to pick up their dog poop. I'm just irked that he did not make them clean it up.

That is exactly why they did it in the first place.

Sigh!!

And since they got away with no consequences, they're likely to be worse when they get older. Slacker parents. They're not unique to your neighborhood. Not all renters are like that. And some home owners are just like that.
