iAqualink and auto pump on after power outage?

Hi, I run my pump 24/7 at a lower speed. I just had a power outage and noticed that if I did not manually turn the pump back on via the app after power was restored, it would not go on automatically. It got me thinking that if I am ever away from the house and we lose power, I would need to be aware and log back in and turn on the pump. Is there a way to turn on the pump automatically after a power outage besides setting a huge schedule every hour (or 30 min) to turn on the pump?

You run your pump 24/7 but do you have the Filter/Pump on a program scheduled to run 8 am to 7:59 AM?

@ajw22 I am not sure what you mean....

@cowboycasey If I have one schedule set that basically is telling the pump it is a "schedule" the entire 24 hours, would that kick it back on or do I need to wait for it to hit the beginning of a new schedule before turning on (the reason you would need to have multiple schedules set up)? To ask this another way, if the pump turns back on during a time frame that is considered "in schedule" is the pump smart enough to realize it is in a schedule time block and turn on or will it just wait for the next "turn on" command to start back up?

I hope this makes sense....

Thanks!

Not anymore, but I was wondering if I need to set them up for the pump to kick back on after a power outage of if there was a way to have it automatically turn on when it gets power back again.

You need to have a program in place for the pump to restart.

Set a program to start at 8AM and end at 7:59 AM.

Ok, but if I lose power at say 9am, would I be waiting 23 hours before it kicks back on or will it see it is in a schedule block and fire right back up as soon as power is restored?

No, if you have a program and the panel restarts within the program time it will run the AUX circuits.

Your problem is you have no program for the filter/pump AUX circuit.

Do you have a good 9V battery in your Aqualink so that it retains the date and time across loss of power?

I have no idea how good the battery is, is there a way to check the life of it? The system is less than a year old so I am guessing so but I am not 100%. Are they just standard 9v’s? I can put in a lithium one in just to be sure.

Newer Aqualink boards don’t have a 9 volt battery anymore. They use a CR2032 coil cell mounted on the back of the main board.

Ah, I have a 20 year old Aqualink. I didn't know they updated the battery.

I replace the 9V battery every season when I open the pool.

For at least the last 5 years, maybe longer, Aqualinks have not used that 9v battery. There is a lithium cell, I believe a CR2032, on the board. Lasts a long time.

Thank you! Looks like I am good there. Any idea if the system alerts you if the battery goes bad or is that just a manual reminder type of thing?

Dunno about the CR2032 systems. The 9V battery boards did not alert. You just found out when the date/time was incorrrect and had reset after a power glitch. That is why I just replace the battery every season opening,
