Gunite happened today, looks good. The watering routine starts tomorrow. We still need electrical done - but pretty quick progress.

The rebar sticking up is a major OSHA safety hazard. Someone tripping can be speared by the rebar and have significant injuries.
Put caps on the rebar. Even empty water bottles on the rebar will safe them.

Question. We are doing concrete decking. We thought about adding some extra concrete decking but found someone cheaper. Is it a bad idea to have the pool builder do the concrete deck the add the additional with another contractor? My concern is it would come out inconsistent. We are doing a salt deck

It is a risk of two different concrete pours matching in color and texture with separate pours whether coming from one contractor or two different ones.
Different contractors can use different concrete sources with slightly different mixes.
You need to decide if the cost saving is significant enough to justify two different looks.

Spoke to the PB today as we’ve had a bit of gap after gunite. He said we had tile and coping next. Is there an order? Seems like plaster come before tile and coping. I’m new at this, but seems like it would we have left

Your PB is correct. Plaster is last because water goes in right after plaster.

Also, the tile gives a place for the plaster to end. If you put the plaster in first it would be much harder to add the tile.

ah. My thoughts were backwards. If you had that mmm time and coping first it would get messy on plasters

Has the concrete been washed off yet? This is a look thats normal until the salt has bee removed from the surface.
