Salinity meters start to show too low value after some time

Over the 5 years I have taken care of my pool I have bought a couple of new salinity meters. Some of the stopped working but many of them started to show to low value after a time.
An example, it shows 3.2 but the real value is 4.0
Have something happened to the sensors. Can I fix it?
Do I have to do a special cleaning after each measurment?

Can you please indicate what salinity meter you are using and a link to the operating manual if you can?

My experience with salinity meters is they drift out of calibration due to:
  • batteries getting weak
  • sensor drying out
  • sensor not getting rinsed off with clean water after use
Here in the US they are inexpensive and disposable when they begin drifting. I use my K-1766 salt test to check the accuracy of the meter occasionally.

It looks like this:
It is very important to clean it with installed water after every use? I have not dine that.
Can I make a salt solution so I can be sure of the value? And then calibrate the meter?
I have seen there are small bags to make a 35 ptt solution but I don't know where i can find them here
