My pool was installed in 2013 with plain old dove-grey marcite plaster. Over the years, the plaster color has become mottled and streaky, though I don’t know if it’s due to my water chemistry, or if the plaster hadn’t cured properly before the pool was filled or what. Regardless, it doesn’t look awesome.
That said, the plaster doesn’t have any cracks or appear to be crumbling anywhere, so I’m in no immediate rush to get the pool resurfaced. However, from what I’ve read, the plaster is approaching the end of its lifespan, so I’m starting to think about what to resurface with when the time comes.
I don’t think I want plaster again. And I don’t think I want tile, either. So that leaves aggregate, basically?
If so, is there any particular type of aggregate that’s currently in-favor? PebbleTec? Beadcrete? DiamondBrite? I really don’t know where to begin.
Any suggestions on where to start would be most appreciated. Please and thank you.
