Expansion coping saw cuts cracked

We just had our poured patio and cantilever edge coping done. They showed up day after pour to make the saw cuts. There are 22 cuts in the pool coping and they all look like this. I think this is a tear out and redo unfortunately. Do you agree? Or can something be done to make this right? I think any patching repair would simply pop out after freezing. And I don’t want them to resaw it and make a 1 inch coping gap....I think that would look bad. Thoughts?

We just had a concrete patio poured and stamped. They came back next day to make their saw cuts. There are 22 expansion saw cuts in 1100 sq ft patio. All of the cuts aren’t clean. They all have chipping, some worse than others. They tried to patch the really bad ones but used a darker color concrete which only accentuated the issue. Brand new patio looks old because of this. Is this a tear out and redo? I included a picture of the chips and a picture of the repair example. 4D75E2FE-D018-40EF-9141-A3846D9DAB01.jpeg

if that is the only spot and everything else looks good I would live with it.. I do not think any kind of repair or tear out will look any better and may get WAY worse...

It looks like a bigger rock or 2 were there and the cut knocked them out...

Thank you. That’s what I thought as well. They did 22 cuts on the patio face and they basically all look like that. Why they didn’t stop and realize either the concrete was too fresh or the blade was bad, is beyond me. We hired the pool company to gc this. So it’s their responsibility as they are the ones who hired a concrete company who clearly didn’t know what they were doing. I don’t think anything can be done other than tear out and replace.

In your opinion, do you think this is a tear out and redo knowing everything? Spending almost 20k on just the patio and coping. It’s 1100 sq ft and every cut mark looks bad. It’s a brand new pool that basically looks 20 years old because how jacked up all the cuts are.

that is a great question... I am not sure other than it looks like an 18 year did the deck and not a 20k install... it looks like a DIY deck gone wrong...

If they won't redo the concrete work they should give you a significant discount on the cost. You didn't pay for a 20 year old deck and coping job. I don't know if the rough edges could be polished with a grinder to smooth them out and look a little better.

Nah, it just added some additional drain slots.

Why did someone concrete saw your deck?
