What have you done for your Pool Paradise recently?

Does this count? Less than a week after completion, this shows up over our pool :)

Although to fit more with the spirit of this thread, we added two umbrellas recently. I really like how they are at different elevations (one in tanning ledge, the other is in the coping at the deep end bench).

I'm doing the most miserable job in the past 3 years. The acrylic chalk line between the coping and tile was falling out. My tile is pretty tight in most areas around the pool so it was hard to get it in good. I decided to scrape it all out and use matching silicone for submersed use. I'm almost done scraping it all out laying on my stomach head over in the pool. I did 50' feet or so last night just to make sure it will look proper. I'm happy. Hopefully this time it stays in. I'm assuming it should cause silicone holds up awesome. tonight i finish scraping and then clean the bottom of the pool cause it's a mess! i'm just letting all the scraped out bit fall in the water.

edit: tonight finished scraping out and got pool all cleaned out. Checked all my tile. Not one cracked grout line thankfully after 3 seasons now. Tomorrow I tape off and Saturday silicone after I fish of course.

Good job. I'm not sure if it applies in this case, but when tiling, any change of plane should be caulked, not grouted. Seems to me it should have been caulked all along.

It was caulked. Acrylic though. Typical like wall to floor in showers and such. It fell apart. So I replaced it with silicone based vs acrylic. This should hold up very. Well now.

Just added LED lighting to pool and spa from Florida Sunseeker Lights. Looks
That’s awesome! Did you add new lights or replace 120v bulbs with LED bulbs? I’ve been considering the latter, but can only find the large pool bulb, not the small spa bulb.

I swept up about 3 gallons of ash from the patio and deck. I imagine there's about that much in the bottom of the pool awaiting vacuuming, but I'm holding off until the fires slow down because I'm sure I'll have to backwash immediately after and I'd rather do it only once.

I can't imagine having to deal with ash everywhere. But better that than fires your way. Your waterline tile is unique - Love it! Was that a custom job?

Season ended a couple of weeks early this year. With leaves and seeds falling, and a storm approaching, I put the cover on to avoid a headache tomorrow. I think I would have gone nuts this year without our backyard paradise. Can’t wait until next year and hopefully large gatherings of friends again!
