New Owner Build in FL near Orlando

We finished up the deck finally. Had to swap out three coping pieces that had saw marks from the supplier. Cut out the holes for our umbrella holders and volleyball net. We ended up with 5 umbrella holders in the deck and 3 in the pool. We purchased 4 umbrellas to move around as we need them. We have no shade in the back yard... Wife is ready to get the furniture outside, but I told her to wait. It's like trying to hold back a hurricane. So I let her try out the umbrellas. LOL We got the skimmer cover done as well. Can you find it? Enclosure was finished in three days with two guys. Impressive work. We went with the 20x20 screen to keep the no see ums out. The enclosure makes the space feel huge. It also ended up bigger than I expected. I used my neighbors as my baseline, but our enclosure has 30 degree rise so the roof is much higher. The wife loves it so we are good. And we have plenty of height for our volleyball games. I also went with 4 foot doors so I can get furniture or other things through there. The regular doors seemed a little tight and the cost to upgrade to a wider door was minimal. I scheduled the child safety and enclosure inspections for Monday and Tuesday. Monday the plaster company will be out to clean the swamp thing out of the pool and we should be swimming by next weekend if everything goes smooth with the plaster process. What size are those screen doors? Were they the standard size or extra? Looks great!

Today we had the pool cleaned out. I haven't seen the bottom probably ever lol since it rained the day they did the gunite and many days after. The swamp water has been drained and all the muck cleaned out. They only tripped the gfi 5 times today running multiple pumps on the same circuit. They acid washed the inside with muriatic acid and put some liquid gasket around the pipes and light. Concreted in 3 umbrella holders in the beach and bench areas. They also cemented in the main drain collars. Then it promptly rained right after they were done so yeah, more water in the pool.pool_cleanout1.jpgpool_cleanout2.jpg

Must be exciting to be getting closer. How many lights and what type are you getting installed?

We just added one Intellibrite 5g 601012. I started the design with 5 Globrites but got scared after reading reviews. I think people prefer the microbrites. I couldn't handle replacing multiple broken lights at a heavy expense so I just wanted to deal with one light. The one light should be good enough for us at night with a lighter interior finish. If you have a darker finish I would definitely recommend getting two lights.

At least it is clean water now. Hope you are pumping it out so it will stay nice and ready for the plaster!
That is a hoot! I see rain clouds right out my window LOL. I just text the owner and he said it was ok. By the way they don't spray the plaster so they use wheel barrows and I guess they trowel it. How do I make sure it is not overworked. I am not concerned with the company, they seem pretty reliable.

Really they don't pump the finish? Is this common?

They have a mixer and then they wheel barrow and dump it in. I asked them why they don't pump it and they guy told me when the hose explodes, you don't want to be on that job. They made it look easy and it came out great.

I have never seen or heard of that before interesting

Friday we were set to get the acid washing done. The guy didn't show up till 5 pm. He brought lots of acid and worked till 8 pm. The guy smoked the whole time and used no type of PPE. I don't know how they do it. I asked him about the acid hurting his lungs and he said it used to. I guess some people don't care about their health.

We started filling the pool at 8:30 pm Friday night. Of course I got the kids out there to splash in the water. Woke up today at 8 am to make sure we weren't over flowing and the water wasn't even touching the first step yet. LOL :laughblue:

I don't know how they can stand to breath that stuff in. It is going to get them in the long run but you can't say a thing to some of them :(

That is good stuff to use. Make sure to brush the pool good after you put it in to help mix it in good.
