Intellicenter not communicating with pump

If it were me, I think I would contact the builder tomorrow morning at this point, based on all that has been tried so far. Let him figure it out I think.

Thanks! I did that and hope they respond and can come out tomorrow. We are super concerned about keeping it properly chlorinated now especially since there was a small bit of algae on it last week (newbie move, we had the chlorine set too low). I appreciate everyone's help, thank you!

Pool,

What model is your Intellicenter? Can you please post a photo of the entire panel? It sound to me you have both lost communication with the network bridge and the RS 485. Have you by chance had any lightning in the area? I agree with Ron, you should take advantage of your warranty.

Chris

Have you tried resetting the Intellicenter? There is a reset on the front panel that you hold down it will reboot. May not work, but that could be an easy fix. After that, I would see what your builder says.

Keep an eye on your chlorine levels and supplement with liquid chlorine as needed if you cant get your pump running.

Yes, we tried the reset but it didn't work unfortunately.

Hi, Chris. I don't know the model but I posted a couple of pictures. It's getting dark here so they aren't great. I don't think we had any storms last night but we did have a couple of serious storms 2-3 weeks ago. One took out our Verizon box and it had to be replaced.

My Intellicenter server was down most of the day so I'm not surprised you lost control from the app. Weird that you lost control of the pump from the panel at the same time. Sounds like a connection or something got fried.

Hi, Chris. Yes, we were just able to log in again but still no joy with the pump. We'll see what the pool builder says, hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for all of your help!

You got the full TFP Force in action!! (y) In the meantime, keep testing your FC, add the necessary liquid chlorine, and use your pool brush to "stir" your pool. You'll be fine if you keep that up. If you have to wait a while for the PB, you could always rent a sump pump (Home Depot, I think) and put it into the deep end with it's output hose in the shallow end. Unplug it and/or take it out if you want to swim, just to be safe. Be sure it's plugged into a GFI-protected outlet. You'll likely find one at the equipment pad.

Pool,

While you're waiting there is a diagnostic inside the panel box to test your connection to the internet. I believe it's in the "advanced" section of the scroll down menu. It will respond with "OK" if you have an internet connection. Could also be that somehow you lost your configuration for the whole system. Once your builder fixes the system you may want to put the working configuration on a usb thumb drive. This way you can just download the configuration file and it saves you having to go through the setup again. It's very easy to do and will save you a lot of time if this ever happens again.

Everyone-- our pool builder came out today and fixed our problem. I'm embarrassed to say it was a tripped breaker. We didn't see any, and even switched them all off and then on again, but apparently that was the issue. Thank you so much for all of the help. It was amazing to have such a community of support behind us. Hopefully someday soon we will have enough experience to help others. In the meantime, it sounds like we both need a visit to the optometrist! LOL. Thanks again.

Thanks for the follow up. Glad it was something minor. If you flipped all the breakers it might have been the low voltage breakers on your Intellicenter panel at the top right of the panel.

123,

Thanks for the honest feedback..

VS pumps have a habit of randomly tripping GFCI breakers due to the harmonics that the pump's motor and control system make.. This is a known issue and Pentair makes a special breaker to solve this issue.. Most pool builders install this breaker when they install an IntelliFlo pump.. Some cheap builders do not.. If this happens again, make sure your pool builder installs the appropriate breaker.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I had no idea! If this happens again, we'll definitely be asking that. Thanks so much.
