Upgraded Above Ground Pool 18x33 and deck rebuild

Started documenting my project and wanted to share. Found a pool that someone wanted to get rid of pretty bad, they did not need the deck either so I purchased both and now need to disassemble everything to move to my house 15 miles away. Attached pics of the pool and deck and the location that I am working on in my yard.

Updates 8/7/20 - Had a week of rain that really hurt the progress but got the framing done and base down packed and leveled. Had to get creative to pull and hold the wall apart to keep the steel bands flat. Was able to get the wall in the track with about 7 extra bodies (that was fun) and got the sand inside. Renting compactor today then will be ready for cove and padding for the liner. I was able to put the laser level on the inside shooting around on the wall and I am within 1/2" all the way around the pool.

Well I didn't do the best at taking pics while installing the liner, the felt pad or the cove (oops) but we have WATER :party:. I was able to pump my treated water from old pool into new one with a small sump pump. I realized quickly that ovals have their own challenges related to getting things lined up. A local pool shop gave me a similar liner sample to use to cover old skimmer hole and I will use new cutout from skimmer for the old return I will get a picture of that - not pretty but that allows me to re-use the 2 yr old liner and save $500+. If I can get 3 or 4 more years of use out of of this liner I will be happy.

Since the weather was cooling off I decided to focus on increasing pool temp to extend the season so I picked up a solar blanket and decided to DIY a reel (save a couple hundred $$$)out of an old galvanized fence top rail and a little welding. It still takes 2 people to do it right but this will work until I get the deck done. Don't mind my mess they had WAY too much sand at old pool location. Up next I have an idea for heater using a Big Easy oil-less turkey fryer and some stainless piping. The pool is too far to plumb natural gas and do not want to spend a grand on a propane heater. I figure I can run this for a couple hours to get quite an increase in temp along with blanket....wish me luck.
