Does anyone know how to install a nicheless led light to an existing pool? I need a light on the shallow end of a L shaped vinyl lined pool. It’s 12’ x 28’ . I’m upgrading my plumbing & I have trenches still open where I can run electric conduit, if needed. Tia

A nicheless light installs in a standard 1.5 inch NPT threaded pool wall fitting. Get the installation manual for the light you plan to install.

Pop a 1.5" return fitting in the wall amd rum the line back to where light gets power. If its far you can Jbox above ground. Most transition to grey conduit but you can use white PVC all the way. Reduce it to 3/4 to save pipe costs. Remember it must be a glued and waterproof line treat it as pool plumbing. If it's being inspected they want it transitioned to grey usually

Hi, how much/how big a line behind the return fitting (that act as the niche)? i've read somewhere, a minimum of 1.5" pipe, 7" long, is this correct? Electric is about 90' to 100' away from future light fixture, is this acceptable? Do you have recommendation as far as nicheless LED light? prefer low voltage. Also will the power cord be immersed inside the flooded conduit?

I go about 2ft or wherever the line trench is nearest. Depends on if inspected. Most want it transitioned to grey PVC with 1 fitting. It's fine to run all way back to pad but that may be too much cable. Joints have to be above ground. They don't make line voltage nicheless only low voltage. Different brands have diff length cables available you get roughly what you need plus extra

I think I ordered the wrong return fitting, Hayward sp 1408 which is used for brand new build. Has anyone here used this fitting as a retrofit to an existing pool? I’m thinking I could slip the lip and gasket behind the liner once it’s cut. Liner has to be Relatively warm to make it flexible Pool water level is below fitting. Thoughts?

hello everyone, i would like to retrofit a jandy niche less light on the shallow end of my vinyl L shape pool. Jandy- "NOTE: When using a 1 1/2” MIP fi tting on the back of a SP-1022 or SP-1408 Wall Fitting, the interior of the Spears and Dura MIP are too small for use with the Jandy® Pro Series Nicheless LED Lights." Any suggestions as to what fitting is used by anyone here, suitable for this particular application? Also is there any return fitting i could use without having to separate vinyl liner from wall, like the hayward SP1408? thanks a bunch!!

The 1023 is a double gasket sandwich. That would work if he already had a hole. The fitting is very hard to get tight in a round hole. When you make a hole for hayward/cmp fittings ita actually a hole with a square in the middle. The factory cutout is an octogram. That holds the face on so you can tighten the nut.

Juat as easy to lower water which you have to do anyway and pop liner out amd do from the back

Give me a pic of your liner track up close there is several styles of liner bead
