What's your Pentair IntelliCenter/IntelliTouch/Easy Touch schedule look like?

Hey Everyone,

I'm basically just about done setting up my IntelliCenter with all the associated equipment. I believe I have a decent idea on setting up the circuits and features, so now I'm ready to start getting schedules programmed into the IntelliCenter.

I'd like to see examples of schedules people have programmed, so please post what you are running.

You just need to schedule your system to meet your goals.. My schedule would not work for you.

I run the Pool Circuit 8 am until 8 am 24/7.. at 1250 RPM
I run the Skim Low Circuit three times a day for an hour at 1500 RPM.. I tell myself it is to help skimming, but I am not sure it matters, as my pool seems to skim well at 1250.

You have a heater, so unless you have a bypass, you will never be able to run that low.

In my mind, the first thing you want to schedule is for your pump to run long enough to generate the amount of chlorine your pool will need.

Since you have a Spa, you may want to set up the Spillway mode, so that you can flush the spa a couple of times a day, instead of having a constantly running spillover.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. Yes I agree that I will need to setup my schedule to meet my goals, and that your schedule (or anyone else's most likely) won't do that exactly. I'm just looking for examples so I can see what various users have done mostly for reference, and also to see if something innovative/cool/unique has been done.

To get the proper amount of chlorine generation, what is the preference on running the pump at say just for example...
1000 RPM for 24 hours with the SWG at 40% versus...
1200 RPM for 16 hours at 50% versus...
2000 RPM for 12 hours at 80% versus...
3000 RPM for 8 hours at 100%...
And assuming the hypothetical numbers would equal equivalent turnover and chlorine generation.

Regarding my heater, it will only be used to heat the spa when the spa will be used, and that will most likely be 90% of the time. Any other time to heat the pool would be a special occasion. I say this because I'm imagining that it would take a lot gas to significantly raise the pool temp from say 70° to 85° for 34k gallons.

Do you think the spa needs to be flushed more than once a day?

Your spa needs to stay chlorinated... One way to do this is the constant spillover, and the other way is to run the spillway mode.. How often and how long you need to run the spillway mode, depends on your conditions.. If the FC in the spa burns off quickly, you will have to run longer or more often.

Salt cell generates the same amount of chlorine no matter what the RPM is, as long as the flow switch is closed.

The cell does not care.. 1 hour at 100% is the same as 10 hours at 10%.

Turnovers are a myth.. If you run your pump long enough to generate the chlorine you need, then there is no reason to run any longer. You can, but it is just not required. I suggest that you put the turnover theory out of your mind..

Pool North runs 8pm to 8am (lower electric cost at night). at 1800 RPM. when heat kicks in it goes to 2300 RPM. salt generator at 80%
Pool south runs 9am to 6pm at 1800 rpm. when solar heat starts, RPM goes to 2300. Use Intellichem to control both ph and the intellichlor
