East Brunswick NJ
1st time post. Trying to keep calm. Purchased a semi inground pool in January. construction began and ended on Thursday. Little did I know when I purchased the home 12years ago that the previous owner was a nut who liked to bury things in the yard, directly in the spot where I am putting the pool. 30 tires, an old pool, tiles, wood etc. so the additional costs so far have been 2 tons of crushed stone to fill the muck hole, a ten yard dumpster and all the added stress and back pain!. Decided to spread the dirt because the yard was so uneven so grading the yard cost yet to come.. hoping that it will all be worth while when its done!! photos are before install, during install and the pile of debris left, half already in the dumpster..

Wow! It will be worth it! It looks very nice. I also live in NJ (very close to East Brunswick) and my kids want a pool so badly. I would love to have an in/ground but the cost is out of my price range. You mentioned you Boischatel the pool in January... did you buy the pool online and then found the installer or are you using the same company for installation and pool? I am not sure we’re to start. Just know I want a semi-I ground and will be perfectly content with something like yours. Enjoy your pool!

I Purchased from Woodbridge pools and used their recommended installer. He told while he was here he has over 300 installations scheduled for the rest of the summer, I guess lots of people are buying pools now.. Just to give you an idea, for what I’m doing it was 9000 for the pool and all the equipment,2700 to install. I figure by the time I’m done I’ll be somewhere around 14000 total.. Yikes!! And I thought I was going the cheap route.

My street is newer than the surrounding neighborhood but still 40 years old. According to the neighbor who was here for it all, my yard was the wooded dumping spot for everybody for years before my road was built. I have found many a tire and rim, car fenders, clothes, shoes, all kinds of chunks of cement. If it wasn’t for the funny looking beer bottles I probably wouldn’t be able to date any of it. Your unsanctioned land fill / dump may be older than you think too.

Thank you! This is very useful. 300 pools! I guess I am out of luck this year. Enjoy it. It is great you will get to use it this summer.
