Hello All, I'm going to take off my cover later today I peaked and the water looks nice and clear, I have been running the pump all day wanted the water mixed up before testing. Im a bit gun shy beind last year was my first year doing the TFP program, please look at my results and let me know if I'm on the right track oh and its a above ground 13,500gal pool
PH 7.2
CL Br .5
CYA 20
CH 60
TA 80
FC I added R-0870 powder to the 10mil of water and it stayed clear.

Pool math says to add 1 lb and 13.0 ox of Borax 20 for the PH
Pool math says to add 14lbs of calcium chloride for the CH
Pool math says to add 36oz of dry stabilizer for the CYA what is dry stabilizer?
Pool math said to lower TA reduce pH to 7.0-7.2 its 7.2 now.
For the FC reading I used 0 in pool math being when I ran the text the water stayed clear, pool math says to add 86oz of Bleach 10%

Thanks so much for all your help.

Your pH, TA, and CH are fine.

Add 5 ppm of liquid chlorine to the water and get 10 ppm of stabilizer dissolving using the sock method.

We have been in the 80's and 90's. Make sure chlorine is your #1 priority as you work through the other numbers.

Ok added last night bleach 10% and dry dry stabilizer via sock the amounts pool math stated.
Here are todays numbers
CYA 30
CH 70
FC .5
TA 80
PH 7.0

Pool Math says to add the below, does this all sound correct to you?
FC 60oz of 10% chlorine
TA pool math stated "to lower TA you reduce pH to 7.0-7.2
CYA add 18oz Dry Stabilizer
PH add 68oz Borax 20mule
CH add 13lbs calcium chloride

Thanks everyone for all your help!!!!

Yes increases your FC to TO 6-7 - FC 60oz of 10% chlorine
No, your TA is fine - TA pool math stated "to lower TA you reduce pH to 7.0-7.2
Yes, increase your CYA to 40-50 for Texas sun - CYA add 18oz Dry Stabilizer
No, areate your water a bit to raise your pH to around 7.4. Adding some CYA will lwoer your pH a bit - PH add 68oz Borax 20mule
No, what CH level is recommended for a resin pool? Only reason to raise CH is if it is required for your pool. - CH add 13lbs calcium chloride

Thanks I will hold off on the Borax and calcium chloride for now..

well the 2 lbs I put in a sock last night and set in the skimmer basked was gone this morning

2 lbs of stabilizer in 13,300 gallons should raise CYA by 18. Your 30 sounds about right if you started with a bit of CYA in the water..

Ok got this mornings tests done pool math is stating to add 13lbs of Calcium Chloride can that be right?
test and pool math results.

FC add 78oz bleach 10%
TA is at 70 pool math says it matches my target
CYA is at 40 pool math said it matches my target
pH is at 7.0 pool math says to add 61oz Borax 20 mule
CH is at 70 pool math says to add 13lbs of Calcium Chloride???

I added the 78oz of bleach but have not added the Borax or calcium chloride should I ?

No on the calcium, low CH only matters for a plaster pool.

No on the Borax. 7.0 is at the low end, but you also just added CYA which will lower pH (its an acid). It will come up in a day or two. I wouldn't try to raise it unless it drops further.

Figure out a way to aerate your pool to raise your pH. Learn how to do that and see how it works by raising your pH to around 7.2-7.4. That way you have it in your tool box to use instead of the PM recommendation for borax.
