Opening pool and leaks everywhere

Last year was our first year and the installer set everything up. I took lots of pictures when I closed up in the fall to make sure I was doing everything right. Now that the pool's been refilled, I've got a few leaks.

A.The hose attached to the skimmer has a bit of water coming up out of it at both the skimmer and the pump. It's very slow and I'm thinking maybe the hose needs to be inched up a bit on both sides? Which will be hard to do since there's water in everything. I tried to get a 2 way valve for just this purpose (turning off the water) but I can't get anything to fit because I don't understand plumbing measurements!

B.Then, at the return, a small bit of water is also leaking out. I noticed that some of the silicon the installer had put around it had come off, so I added more this am, but it doesn't seem to be working.

C. Finally, when I was putting back on the multi port valve, I noticed that the lower part (looks like it's where the valve body meets the diffuser) wasn't closed 100%. (I didn't realize, until now, that it wasn't all one big piece). I figured that it would get tightened down when I tightened the valve clamp. But, alas, there's a slow leak. However, I'm not sure how to fix it with the pool full b/c I can't get the water to stop flowing.

I'd really like to get ball valves for both the intake and returns. I just feel like so many issues would be helped, I just don't know what size I need! I was under the impression I have 1.5 in hoses, but those valves are HUGE and don't work.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

For the 1st pic use some teflon tape with about 5 wraps and then use better hose clamps something like this is what I use. Also, buy a nut driver to screw in the hose clamps. Can't answer the last pic as I have a cartridge filter
