Hello!
New to TFP and owning a pool in general. I replaced my pump and filter about 4 months ago as previous home owner clearly didn’t maintain the equipment and installed a GFI for the pool light. Well, now the equipment is doing what it should I seem to have sprung a leak out of this dome. From what I gather in research it is a valve for the pop up heads. I tried to band-aid the leak with putty but nothing is strong enough to stop it. The leak is really bad and right next to the GFI and now anytime I try to turn on the pool light, it immediately trips the GFI and the pool light will flash for half a second and then go out again. I attached 2 pictures, one being a close up so you can see where the putty is showing the leak(where the bottom of the dome and the in ground pipe connect)
Two questions...
What do I need to do/replace to stop this leak? how is this leak causing the light to trip or is there a larger underlying issue that is more coincidental rather than related?
Thank you so much in advance for any answers as I am just learning about pools and equipment
