Finished my SLAM 2 days ago but now FC is dropping again
TC=400 (our fill water is 250-300)
TC=3
FC=2
pH=7.3
TA=70
CYA=50
Cleaned my cartridge filters again yesterday just to make sure they were clean, water looks clear, I can see heads on a quarter at 5 feet. It has been sunny and in the 90's here. Should I SLAM again?

Are you testing your pool chemistry yourself and if so, what's your CC reading? btw... it looks like you have a SWCG pool. Follow this link to make sure your CYA correlates with your FC. Nevertheless, what's your CC reading.

What are you using to test with? I see you said last week that you had ordered a k-2006 but since you are showing a TC reading instead of a CC reading I doubt those results are from that.

Still waiting for my k-2006 so I used Taylor K-1000 for total chlorine, Taylor K-1001 for my free chlorine and pH and borrowed my neighbors Poolmaster 5 way test kit for Alkalinity and test strips for CYA. Figured I still had a bit of algae so I went to Leslies pool and got some power powder plus schock, I work and was not able to keep adding bleach to keep chlorine high enough. Added shock yesterday and pool is crystal clear today, no whitish haze in it. Will keep an eye on my frr chlorine until the test kit comes. I think that should work yes?

You can't properly SLAM without reliable testing, and you definitely cannot run the tests required to declare one finished without it. What you are experiencing is just the results of typical pool care: you got the water clear and used that to determine that you were finished while there was still algae present waiting to relapse. It's just a reminder why good testing is vital.

Once your kit comes in you will have the data you need to properly implement the SLAM Process. Follow that through completion, passing all 3 criteria completely, and things will be a lot easier going forward.

Was just doing the best I could until my kit came! At least I could tell I wasn't keeping my FC level high enough with Clorox. Well it finally came on Friday. I had used the powder plus from Leslies on Thursday to shock (2pks per their instructions)
Friday evening readings:
FC=21.5
CC=.5
pH=7.6
ALK=100
CH=560 our fill water =300
CYA=70

Saturday morning readings:
FC=20
CC=0.2
pH=7.6
ALK=100
CH=560
CYA=70

Am I right in assuming I have now passed the SLAM criteria? The shock was added on Thursday and I assume my extra .5 drop in free chlorine was just the chlorine level starting to drift down. We are in Tucson and it has been full sun and upper 80's. Where should I keep my FC during the winter here.

Most Clorox bleach says it contains Cloromax Technology which are polymers and not suitable for pools because they cause foaming. Also Clorox is 6% chlorine. You should find 10% liquid chlorine at HD or Walmart.

Let your FC drift down to 10 and do a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test at that level to see if you are good.
