Need help replacing pool light fixture

I have a defective light fixture, Hayward sp581, in a hayward SP600 or 607 nitch, I connected the new fixture to the electric transformer and made sure it works before pulling off the old one. When I got to remove the old fixture, I have a very short cable, so fixture doesn't come above the water level. And the fixture is not pulling out of the nitch so I could pull the cable and install the new cable of the new light fixture. I don't understand the whole system and probably I have an old models of nitch that I can't find any info online. Any help with how to remove the fixture for the nitch and install a new one ?
Note: the bulb in the old fixture is brand new , because we had to replace the liner and i had the contractor replace the bulb, but of course because he's too busy , he didn't even bother looking if the bulb even works before filling up the pool with water

Welcome to TFP.

Is your problem the length of the cable once you remove the light from the niche? Or do you have a problem removing the light from the niche?

If you are replacing the light then you are going to be pulling the cable from the conduit anyway. Have you found the junction box the light cable runs to?
 
Thank you, I will be replacing the whole fixture, and I found the junction box and disconnected the light already but the cable is still not pulling out
I think the power is connected to the nitch and the nitch is the one supplying the light fixture with power. I might be wrong though
How can I take it totally out? That's what I need to figure out

I don't understand where you are thinking the connection is.

The light assembly comes with a 15'-50' cord sealed to it. The niche has a conduit outlet that runs to the junction box. You should connect a pull wire to the old wire by the junction box. Then pull the light out, pulling the wire with the pull string through the conduit. Then you use the pull string to pull the new light wire from the niche to the junction box.

Exactly that's what I was thinking and that's exactly what I did, but nothing is moving (pulling out ) or even wigelling
I didn't want to force it in case I don't understand is right. It is weird and I don't know how it's wired, but the light fixture pulls out about 18" from the nitch and that's it, no excess cable or anything at all
And when I put the pull cord to the disconnected cables , nothing pull or give way at all
 
You sure you found the right junction box? Could you have more then one around your pool? How many lights do you have in your pool and spa?
 
Only one light in the pool and after I disconnected it I connected the next fixture just to try it and it worked perfectly fine
That's how I confirmed this is the right junction
And it's the only 12v

Is the power at that junction box 12v or 120v?

There can be 90 degree bends in the conduit that the wire can get kinked at and hung up. Also the conduit could have bent and developed a kink. Hence the need for all the lube.
