Pool Cover Safety switch for waterfall

Hey there! We installed our pool a few years ago, and I added a coverstar pool cover to it. Since we have waterfalls, I added a safety switch that prevents the waterfall valve from turning on if the cover is in the "closed" position (obviously to prevent accidentally pressing the waterfall and damaging the cover). Anyway, the one we have has stopped working. We found that there are batteries, but they are expoxy'd in place (not sure why). We had an electrician here to check it out--he had never seen it either. My question is, does anyone know the brand or maker of these specific safety switches? I can't seem to find anything online, and there is nothing in my paperwork.

It's too dark now, it's just a small black box with 1 wire, the box is mounted to the cover opposite the motor, the wire travels down to the motor. The box has a button on the top, which if memory serves, that was a reset. It learns the number of rotaions so it knows if the cover is open (enough) to clear the waterfall (i think the button sets that). If the cover is closed, the sensor prevents the valve from turning.

Multiple phone calls allowed me to figure out what it was called. I thought I'd post it here if it may help anyone else. We have the Micro-Rotary Encoder Limit Switch (Latham/Coverstar). It does have batteries, but they are supposed to last 10 years. It prevents the waterfall or spill valve from turning on if the cover is closed (which you program it yourself and it works based off rotations, not the magnet). Our valve operates fine manually, so we know it must be this switch. Aside from this recent issue--it does work great--so if you're getting a cover and you've got a spill or waterfall--you'll like this. You'll like it better if it works for longer than 2 years... :cautious: As another side note--we had to install it ourself because apparently "google" isn't the only one with zero info on this device--none of the local cover installers around my area install it--but we figured it out.
