Booster Pump No Longer Needed - What to do with it?

I finally gave up on my Polaris 380 and moved to an M400. This means I no longer need a booster pump. My question is whether I'm advised to remove the booster pump entirely or just leave it there off and inactive. My instinct is to leave it there and not mess with it. Is there any harm in leaving it there, or should I remove the plumbing pipes that directs water to and from it?

And a follow on, since I will no longer have a need for the booster pump, but I still have a quick connect socket in the pool, is there any sense in plugging up that socket, or should I just leave as is?

I'd remove the quick connect if it sticks out where it can snag people. There's no reason to keep the pump but it doesn't hurt to leave it in place either. If in place, see if you feel any water flow through the plumbing when on normal filter mode. If yes, good. If no, run the booster a few minutes a day to keep any water in those lines from getting stagnant.

If you choose to remove the pump, you might be able to convert it to cash on craigslist.

Wow. I could have made almost the exact same post! Noisy, power-sucking booster pump running a largely ineffective pressure side cleaner (mine was Pentair Kreepy Krauly.) I also still have the fitting on the pool wall. The Maytronics M400/500 with the third brush is almost a miracle cleaner. I have a Pentair "universal booster pump" sitting there too. I can't imagine that junky pump would have much value on the used market. As Richard suggested, I run it a few minutes about once a week to avoid stagnant water, although I can detect a small amount of water flow even with the booster pump off. I could schedule it to run daily, but it is really noisy, draws 870 watts, and requires the filter pump run at 2800 rpm or faster in order to prime.

I'm keeping the pump for now, thinking that if I added a slide or some other accessory requiring a water supply, I could connect to the fitting and run the booster on demand from the Intelliconnect app. Probably never will, but I hesitate to abandon functional pumbing. I'll be interested to hear if you decide something useful for it. I also still have the Kreepy Krauly.

I removed ours. Sold the cleaner but had no luck selling the used booster pump. I re-plumbed and cleaned up the arrangement a bit at the same time.

I'm picturing some sort of water cannon...

I was thinking the same. About to pull the trigger on a cleaning robot but what to do with the old pressure cleaner and supporting H/W. First, I'm keeping everything as robot seem to fail from time to time. This way I have back-up if the robot is in the shop. Second, here in southeast LA with summer in full swing the pool water can hit the high 80's so why not change the wall fitting and install a fountain to help cool the water. Should get some good cooling with a booster pump pushing the fountain.
