Finally got my K-2006 and first test results!

What are you calling 'Pool Calculator'? There is something called that that is not related to TFP. It is not supported by this forum.

Do note that the pool calculator website and TFP’s pool math are NOT the same. TFP has updated a few calculations and so you may not get similar answers. TFP would rather give advice based off of the tools that are controlled by it but we will help the best we can of you choose not to use the App. Obviously the App is so much more than just a numbers calculator and the subscription features are great. It’s also an app that gets a major update every season and the proposed/requested feature list keeps getting longer. So you can rely on the fact that TFP will roll out plenty of great updates every new pool season.

Not to hijack, but - is there a public venue for making requests for features and seeing what requests might have already been made?

It was the "Pool Calculator" website and their respective app.

That sounds like a better setup though, especially with the updates. Sounds like I need to upgrade. :)

Just tested and the FC is now 7.5ppm down from 9ppm late this morning. CC is reading 0.

I vacuumed my heart out and even got in with a snorkel and got the wall to floor seam that I found dirt was hiding in. Patch is still holding.

I guess I will know in the morning if I need to SLAM.

Okay I was bad and couldn't couldnt get up at first light around 7am. It's 9am Pacific time. But the sun isn't on the pool much yet.

Regardless I still failed the OLCT miserably. :/

Last night when the sun was off the pool afternoon 6pm

FC- 9

This morning

FC-6

Now I didn't add any chlorine yesterday for two days as we sprang the leak and halted the SLAM.

Looks like back up to FC20 I go.

Water looking pretty darn good, with kid today a tiny amount of dirt re-settled. Had the pump running overnight.

Isnt that's a lot of FC overnight for being clear?

FC loss sometimes is odd. With the water the way it looks, your SLAM should be quick.

Look for any hiding places. Ladder, steps, skimmer, etc, if you have them.

That's the perplexing thing. I found dirt hiding in the seam yesterday where the wall meets the floor, it leaves a little lip you can gently pull back. But I took off then vac head and sucked up everything I could.

I'll check the underside of the ladder. I did have that out of the pool for a few hours yesterday in the sun.

Only other place I can think of is behind the drain outer flap but I don't want to mess with that. ?

And the last failed OCLT was only 1ppm. Then I brought it up to 20 for a day and let it drop after I discovered a leak. So it's only just dropped to 9 after that. Crazy.

Like you said, hopefully it will only need a day or two to finish.

If I find any hiding places, what do I do with them? Vacuum? There is a skimmer I bought a few weeks ago that clamps to the edge of the pool, a ladder, and a whale thermometer.

When you do the CYA test, try this next time.

Once you have your solution ready, back to the sun, etc. Fill the vial to a line, say 80, lower the vial to your waist level and glance for the dot, you see it, add solution to the 70 line, glance, see it, repeat until you no longer see it with a glance. Then use the CYA value one step above the line you read. So if you stopped at 50, use 60 ppm CYA.

The vial is in logarithmic scale. So it is not viable to interpolate between the lines. Just use the whole numbers, such as 50, 40, 30, ....

Okay. I had my back to the sun and filled to the scale numbers and then glanced.

The first time I did it last week I was in the shade, so maybe it wasn't as high as I thought it was.

It's either 30 or 40.
