My kids found these in the deep end of our pool yesterday. We just had a brand new filter and pool heater installed (replaced 10yr old ones). I called the company that installed the heater and filter and they had no idea. Said it wouldn’t be from the equipment they installed. We are thinking maybe from the cleaner (old Kreepy Krauly, also replacing that). Any ideas? Anyone ever seen these?

No, no mineral system. We have only been the pool owners for 2 yrs. there is a salt cell. The guy at the pool company said it was near impossible for anything to make it from the area they did the work to the pool as it would have to pass through the pool filter and the salt cell.
Edited to add: they showed up Thursday. Might have been there a little longer but the kids like to dive deep down and they probably would have spotted them sooner.

I will have to get the info together on the pool equipment. ? my husband said it was a Pentair salt cell when I texted him though.

This is the best answer yet. No, we haven’t, and that is not what they are. They are relatively light and a little bigger than a pea. So putting them in your whiskey would be a bad idea unless you want to choke on one.

So today I figured out what the my reminded me of (but they aren’t) is they remind me of pie weights. They aren’t, of course. The kids have found 4 more since the big lot was found. Mystery continues.
