Increasing water temp strategy

I would like to raise the water temperature of our pool a lot earlier this summer than what it normally does without any external effort.

Tell me if I'm crazy:
I plan to run the water through our rock water feature every day when we are in low speed so that more water is exposed to our air temps, which currently run at least 20 degrees (soon to be at least 30) higher than pool temp. I have a salt pool and I know this will drive up my pH, which is already the main thing I have to keep an eye on. Am I crazy to run the pool this way? FYI I won't be running through water feature for the high speed cleaning cycles.
 
Whatever you do, you must cover the pool at night to retain the heat.

I do not think you will get much from running a water feature. In fact, it might hurt, due to evaporation.

A gas heater or solar heater are the only sure ways to increase your water temperature of the pool water.

Has anyone tried using the black side of their winter cover/tarp to act as a solar heater? I used my solar cover last March to get a head start but I have so many large oak trees above/around the pool that the stuff falling from the trees during bloom caused a copper stain on the liner. I am running the pump during the day with the return jets pointed up and will wait until 2nd half of April to switch to the solar cover once the trees are done vomiting into the pool. The pool water is balanced and we don't have any more risk of freezing temps in Memphis.
 
I also have to recommend the solar cover. We have a solar heater and use a solar cover to retain the heat. We have been able to swim for the last 4 weekends (85-90 degree water). my in-laws have a similar size pool which a similar solar heat but they do not use a cover. Their pool has still not reached 80 degrees this year. I am a firm believer in the solar cover. Plus they are only $100 on amazon,

Which solar cover did u get from amazon?
 
I bought a new cover a couple of weeks ago directly from Sun2Solar. I believe it was $5 cheaper direct than thru Amazon. Free shipping and no tax.
