New build in Wylie TX

Pretty sure Zoysia. PB is very knowledgeable in landscape, so I turned that over to him. [h=3][/h]

Cool! I am researching grasses and not being a native Texan the options are kind of strange, so I was just curious. Thanks!

I really don't want to say this but you might want to have them wait. The wind could kick up some dirt that may settle on the new plaster. It will be close to impossible to get it up :(

You also need to be able to check the correct color is brought.

Yep you were right. The tile company installed the wrong edge tile. PB say simple we cut it out and replace it. I want a warranty. We and the PB ordered MAS NL 1234. Got BTI-37-1113 which my wife hate.

It can be done and has been done many times for this very reason. They may use a chisel and hammer to get the old tiles off then a grinder to remove any left over pieces of tile and glue.

If you are worried then stay there while they work. If they know they are being watched they will be extra careful. YES I have watched over many a shoulder to make sure work was done the correct way! I usually have something yummy to eat and drinks available. This goes a long way in fostering good will.

Any idea whose fault it is that you got the wrong tile? I wonder if YOUR tile is on another pool right now! We had that happen on a build a couple to summers ago. It was plaster with LOTS of upgrades! The other pool was just going to get plain white plaster while the TFP pool was going to get pebble with extra pebbles and pretty shells and and and................The other pool got to keep the up graded plaster and the TFP pool got a full chip out and redo.

NPT sent the plaster crew out with the wrong tile. PB didn’t check it, I didn’t check it. PB ordered the right stuff. Wife walked in and said WHAT IS THAT. I had a leftover strip sitting on the table.

shhhhhhhh but the "wrong" tile you have is my favorite tile LOL so I would have been thrilled. BUT if your wife was expecting her chose then saw that BLUE BLING it had to be a shock to the max. The tile she picked out is oh so pretty also and I was so excited to see it in a pool!

The tile is on backorder. PB confirmed weeks ago everything for my pool was ready. They will acid wash and fill today, lower and cut out the wrong tile when it comes in. Thinking the tile company was hoping no one would notice. I requested this all in writing from my PB, and will hold plaster draw until we are 100% whole.

I actually have your wrong tile on my spa! I love it and yet I admit it takes a little getting used to. It’s definitely not for everyone.

We had a couple of tiles that got broken during pebble install and they sent someone out to replace them last week, you literally cannot tell which ones have been replaced. They didn’t even drain the pool.

I talked with the main man tile layer yesterday on site. ( 30 years, he does the repairs). He shot straight with me I feel. Said of course if we can live with it that’s best, but if it needs to replaced you won’t tell, but their is always a risk. Said he would diamond cut the plaster right on the edge. Grind down the thinset to gunite. Lay new thinset and tiles. Same color plaster less the aggregate to grout. If need be they will sprinkler aggregate on it and trowl over it. Said it was very common for them to remove decorative tile when homes sell and new owner can’t handle paw print or dolphin tile. Told me a story of a house that had a Texas longhorn logo on the bottom. House sold and new owner negotiated at closing to ge it removed.

She's not a fan, and in fact getting rather upset about everyone trying to make her "settle". They are bringing a sample of the correct tile out today to lay next to the "Garth Brooks brush popper" color ones we have now, but the outcome will be the same. It needs to be changed.

I don't blame her if she is feeling pressured. That will only make her stiffen her spine even more!

Get if fixed NOW! Don't play games! Do what should have been done from the beginning! (all this is said to the people doing the work)
