Disassembled both heater water connections to add tape to the joints (minor leak on the lower one). After starting the pump, saw a large green cloud in the pool. Also cleaned the pump filter basket. Now the pool is noticeably green. Backwashed the filter, it was extremely dirty. Leaving the pump on 24 hours at 1800.

Kept the pool closed the last 3 days for rain and tree debris, except for short periods. Mainly honeysuckle and oak. Added about 1.5 inches of water.
APC Cover Care performed maintenance on the cover. Lowered the whole mechanism about an inch, made a few other adjustments. Done in under an hour. Rec'd (1) can or jar of mothballs at each end of the drum for chipmunks (2) keep the cover open 1/2 hour after adding chlorine (3) have them back for general maintenance every other year.

Estimated the new salt level measurement. The SWCG was back to green before 7pm. Increased it from 40 up to 60% b/c FCl dropped a little. Also reduced the pump speed to 1600 for the slowest period - no problem maintaining prime now. Aerator ran for 7 hours or so.
