I too am fighting BA for the first time

Hey Butterfly, I added CYA this morning... Two gallons of Liquid instant conditioner. I would have done the granular, but it is slow desolving, and since there is really no reading on my CYA, I figured getting the balance right was an immediate necessity in order to help keep the chlorine...

I too am fighting BA for the first time

Test results as of today. Obviously the high chlorine amounts are burning off extremely fast. I added stabalizer (CYA) about a month ago and test results today show less than 20ppm. Here are the test results: FC - 2.5 CC - 0 TC - 2.5 pH - 7.0 T/A - 100 CH - 380 CYA - below 20ppm I added liquid...

:hammer: Thanks for your input, though I may have been around long enough, I asked the question for a reason. Not sure why I had to take a razzing before you gave me the advice!

I too am fighting BA for the first time

I too am fighting BA for the first time in 4 years. I am running a SWG and am in the middle of Siper Chlorination. I went ahead and brushed the spots with a wire algae brush and then added RAM Poly-algacide. I then brushed the entire pull down, and am about to go vaccume the pool. I also...

    CALCIUM Stain on Tile

Well, we started up our pool back in September and thanks to all the help from this site, I thought I knew what to do to avoid any issues. I keep the PH under control with acid etc... Well in January, we had a few small issues that I had to call my PB to come out and fix, one being the...

Hey, well you are not alone in this issue! I just called Adam today for the same type issue...my salt readings have been all over the place and now the cell is not working at all and I have an "check flow / PCB" error inside on my intellitouch. Sorry to hear Adam is not working with you...I...

HELP...SWG not working...is it safe to add Chlorine tablets?

Thanks for such a quick response.... Should I disconnect the SWCG or will it be ok left on? Also. my CYA was a little low at last check, so I was actually going to add some this week. I will use the tablets and re-check my CYA levels when I return home...hopefully this cell will get replaced...

HELP...SWG not working...is it safe to add Chlorine tablets?

So my Pentair Intellichlor is obviously not working as the salt levels are all over the place and now the service light is on and I am still getting a check flow / pcb error on my intellitouch controller. I have cleaned the cell and the filter. The cell itself says the flow is good.....AHHH...

Intellichlor IC40 Error, but no problem found

I noticed my cell light was flashing green, so I came inside and looked at the Intellichlor menu on my touch pad...I had a "check flow / pbc" message, so I figured I would go ahead and clean the cell to see if there was any scale build up. After removing the cell, I saw no debris or scale build...

    Return line bubbles

I too have bubbles (start up this past September) and builder could never come up with a solution. Mine is also in the first return line and as JasonLion said, mine didn't start until I activated the SWG, so I am assuing that this is where the issue is created.

High Chlorine Levels w/ low output % on SWG

On initial start up back in September, I had my SWG set at 60% output and was running about 5ppm at that setting. When the weather started cooling down, I noticed that the chlorine levels shot up dramatically...to about 10ppm. I had about .5 in FC. I Super Chlorinated the pool (100% SWG for 24...
