New pool build in SE Florida

Looks good... In October, you'll swim :) It takes about 2.5-3mo for a pool this size in SoFL now.

Yes, the skimmer equalizer port can be connected to the main drain to allow the skimmer to operate if the water level falls below the skimmer opening. It is not depicted on the plan, though. https://blog.intheswim.com/inground-pool-skimmer-plumbing-diagrams/ For overflow, there has to be an...

    Continuation of an odyssey

If you just want to see the temp reading remotely, you can use something like Home Assistant with its MQTT sensors. There is no need to rely on a cloud solution, you can connect to your home network and therefore Home Assistant server via VPN (IPSec or OpenVPN) running on your phone. The VPN...

IntelliFlo Seal Failure on Almost Brand New Pump (SWCG Pool)

Thank you, Chris. What brand is the shaft seal ? I may just buy the shaft seal that was recommended by James. I hope it's not the bearings that are making the noise. Replacing the seal does not look too bad but rather disappointing considering the price.

Thanks ! Is PS-1905 better for salt water than the OEM 071734S ?

IntelliFlo Seal Failure on Almost Brand New Pump (SWCG Pool)

Hi, I noticed a chirping sound on startup/shutdown a week ago on my almost brand new Intelliflo 011028 that I bought and self-installed a month ago. I thought that maybe a leaf got stuck somewhere and was going to clean it next week. It would be rather unpleasant if my seal is failing too...

Additionally, with a heat pump(about 45A), you'll need at least gauge 8 wire and a matching breaker. Your existing 30A breaker and gauge 10 won't be enough. But that should be easy for any electrician to change on site.

Hi, I do not see the overflow and equalizer lines on the plan. Are they depicted separately ? Also, could you please pm the builder name ? Thx !

    Intellicenter Wifi

The signal strength at the destinations really depends on the obstacles in the signal path with all other things being equal. 100ft indoors presumes sheetrock walls. In optimal conditions outdoors, the signal can more or less reliably propagate over a couple of miles (e.g. drone control). If...

    Continuation of an odyssey

We do not have an autofill. For some reason I do not recall we opted out. I can probably attach a PVC pipe to the skimmer lid and place the sensor inside the pipe in the manner this chap did: https://www.instructables.com/id/Pool-Level-Sensor/ I was actually more interested in the level...

    Continuation of an odyssey

Maybe, maybe not. I have a zigbee thermometer in the garage with CBS walls and the receiver is in the house with CBS walls about the same distance (40') as the skimmer. I can successfully receive packets although RSSI is pretty low (-80/-85). So, if can receive at this distance with 2.4GHz I...

    Continuation of an odyssey

Hi, When you mentioned that the range from the floating thermometer to your display unit is 30', did you mean the distance ? Or that the signal can reach your display unit reliably at 30 ' only ? I am thinking about placing either a floater or the cheaper unit you mentioned inside the skimmer...
