Just got my kit and completed tests

Sounds like you are getting it nicely sorted - once you get the hang of it, you only test every 2 or 3 days and get into a 'holding pattern' - you pretty much know what to add and how much, and make very small adjustments.

Do robotic cleaners save energy compated to suction cleaners?

I've found the robotic cleaners do a far better job, and faster, and use less power - I've a Zodiac V3, its brilliant.

Portable generators not for a pool.

Depends on your electrical code in the states, but you need a changeover switch at your power board (so you don't back-feed the mains) - also note that the three phase units don't like running unbalanced between the phases. Three phase is pretty common in Aus, it complicates things when your...

    Mineral Pool Salts

From memory when I was harassed by the pool store about this - it was magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts). Not to be confused with softswim, which is remarketed baquacil.

Seeking Power Supply Info: Aquabot Bravo

Wattage: 140 Watts Voltage: 24 V at cleaner Pretty simple to sort out. Search ebay for "24V 350W Power supply" - you should pick up a switchmode supply that's a clone of a meanwell for about $50 - Put it in a waterproof box and you should be fine. As for the pinouts - looks like if it has a...

    Pool test kit...what to buy?

In Australia, you can import from saltwater pool parts - shipping is dear, but quick - the $450 ebay kit is a ripoff - that's a k-2006C - larger reagent sizes (66ml vs 22) I have some reagents in stock if you just need the FAS-DPD test, will work as long as you have a 10ml measuring cylinder. PM...

Strange test results - Why you should RTFM

I tried that last night, much easier to see. My reagents turned up from the states yesterday, and I also tried the salt test - 5,800 PPM - not a pretty test, lots of chunky bits at the bottom, and cleaning up after it was a chore. Oh - and silver nitrate - I forgot how badly it stains skin...

Strange test results - Why you should RTFM

Does this change the ratios used for the maths? Pool is looking great after making these changes, its now a bit disconcerting when the filter is off and the water is still - looks like a sheet of glass over an empty pool! The only clue that there is water in it is the line around the outside.

Low speed pumps causing gas bubbles

At low levels you don't really see much - a few whisps of 'smoke' that appear to come off the plates. Wind up the wick and they look like they are steaming.

Strange test results - Why you should RTFM

Yep sure have - my eyesight is really poor. I think there is a point where it is a really, really feint pink colour that I see as clear. CYA has dropped as expected.

    Wasn't expecting a pool?!

It would cost a fortune! - black algae is a PITA but use enough chlorine and you can kill anything :)

Low speed pumps causing gas bubbles

Yep I have the same problem - it was discussed at length on whirlpool forums, someone fixed theirs by mounting it so that it is at 90 degrees to normal, ill be doing the same with mine. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... 874947&p=3 Fix - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/gna ...

    Outdoor TV options

We use something a bit different - we have a projector inside, mounted on the ceiling, rear-projecting on a large pool-facing window - sound is done via some 'outdoor' speakers fed from a 2.4ghz AV transmitter / receiver pair. Yeah nerdy... I know.
