    Plaster Repair

Here is a picture of what the bad spot looks like. I'm guesstimating that it's about the size of a basketball in diameter. Hard to say exactly since it's 4-5 ft underwater. Excuse the grass etc, I had just finished mowing and hadn't yet cleaned the clippings.

    Plaster Repair

Thank you for the info. So you think it's doable for me to drain the pool and just redo the plaster in those two bad places myself?

    Plaster Repair

About 6 years ago I had my 20,000 gallon IG gunite pool replastered. At the end of this last summer I noticed that I had two places where the plaster was cracking badly and ended up having a "pothole" in the plaster (shallow pothole!). I would say the area is about 2-3' in diameter and only as...

Hayward Swim Pure Problem-lights not on, not generating

Update: I replaced the entire board for a cost a little less than $200 and everything seems to be working ok. If I had any soldering skills or tools I might would have attempted to solder in the part that goes bad but I just simply do not have the time for that operation right now. IMO it was...

Hayward Swim Pure Problem-lights not on, not generating

I wanted to confirm something. I checked dispaly-there is no power light even though the reading shows 3000 for salt. Temp is 94. Voltage and current both zero. Instant salt reading is also zero. Version 1.45.

Hayward Swim Pure Problem-lights not on, not generating

Hi, I have the Hayward Swim Pure Plus system. I installed it about 2011 and it has worked great since then. Recently it developed a problem. At first the "check cell" light was coming on. I removed the cell and cleaned it per the instructions. The cell looks mostly OK. After I cleaned the...

What sort of flow i should expect

I have a blue white flowmeter but I have yet to install it. It's on the "to do " list. I'm curious also.

New two speed pump + solar

here's a thought: See if you can swap your motor out for the next size up motor (from say a 1-HP to a 1.5) so that when you run on low your flow is higher. Of course you'll have to change out the impeller and diffuser end. Don't know how well it will work but if you really want a two speed it...

    Clogged deck drain

Going out of town...how do we prevent a swamp??

I find it odd to say that it would cost a pretty penny to put in a timer when you've already got an IG pool. The timer is one of the cheapest things you can add to your pool that gives you a lot back. I'm betting you already have a timer but it is broke and has not been fixed. Probably an...

Argh! Can't Close Pump Drain Hole, Any Fix? or Must Buy New?

Re: Argh! Can't Close Pump Drain Hole, Any Fix? or Must Buy You can probably put a scab of epoxy over the hole. It must be dry and get the 2-part epoxy. I did this on another fitting and it works.

    Clogged deck drain

Hello Neighbor. Judging from your pic I'd bet our pools were put in by the same company. Go to Lowes and get a "blow bag" to clear the drain. Let me know if you get the "strip" clean, I'd like to get mine functional also.

    Plumbing a remodel

I'm not sure if your directing this at my "sch 80" comments or the OP. It's NEVER the glued part that causes problems, as long as it's done correctly. Heck, even done wrong the glued part usually holds. You and I both know that "glued" isn't quite the right term, as it's really chemically...
