You are correct. 2017 board Rev D. there really are only two components there. The board, and the drive. The drive is new today. I have no other option but to replace or upgrade the board. I'm thinking if I have to spend money may as well get the intelli center modular.

Only thing wired in with the new pump/vfd was the protocol converter. I did not bring anything else into the control circuit. I have now disconnect the pump, brought back the protocol converter and the intellichem both work fine. plug in the drive and it all dies.

I am telling the whole story. I'm an electrical contractor with many years of controls experience. I can program VFD/ PLC's all day long. I understand RS 485 control along with Ethernet and RS 232. What I do not have is very much pool and Pentair experience. I started with a working system...

Well that's why I'm stumped. Two pumps/ VFD's one new today and still same issue. Doesn't make sense. I'll call Pentair again in the morning. Only thing I think it can be is something going on with the controller board.

Pump is brand new today. Wiring is new. I did exactly what you suggested. Only wires on the comm connection are the two to the pump. No the pump display did not change to "display not active" which I know is what should happen.

Sorry here is the the PIC. I am currently wired to the system comm using a protocol adapter, wired to my network. With just this, the comm works fine. Nothing else is currently connected. Connect the drive and I basically get a comm fail.

Pretty bad spot for a splice. I have two intellibright lights but they are wired back to relays in my control panel. The light will probably work wired there, be sure of course to make sure it on a GFCI breaker. If it were me, I would not use the light wired like this spliced in this location.

Hi Jim, attached is a picture of the comm connector. Currently, the only things connected are my protocol adapter and the pump. I have comm port expansion adapter on order.
