RPZ or check valve on fill line?

I'm not sure if it's acceptable if I resurrect my own thread, but it seems to be provide all the 'history', so I hope it's ok. As I posted separately, my equipment pad froze in the big TX arctic blast last week and i had some broken valves (cheap kind) at my UV light (now gone) and on my fill...

Pipe froze and broke overnight - In Austin, TX

Thanks, that's good to know and will be less time wasted! I was able to break up surface ice and get some floats in, but now it's time to wait.

Pipe froze and broke overnight - In Austin, TX

Thanks for the replies and good luck to everyone! All the equipment was frozen solid when I tried to pull drain plugs, etc. When the pipe broke Sunday night, it drained about 18" of pool water on to pad and surrounding area - which was all solid ice by the morning, when I found it. Silver...

Pipe froze and broke overnight - In Austin, TX

Hi - In Austin, I was watching pool temp all day yesterday and looked good overnight (34 degrees), even at 3am. This morning went to look and pool is half full, pump was on, and a pipe broke at a ball valve. It's 12 degrees now and everything seems frozen at pad, can tell about filter. Down...

Jandy LXI 400N Pool Heater H20 Short

Hi - I received the H20 Short error on my LXi 400N yesterday. Today, I disconnected the sensor and tested the resistance and it is way off, indicating a 140 degree temperature, when it's actually about 75 degrees. Further, with the sensor disconnected, the fault changes to an H20 sensor OPEN...

Replacing Jandy 12V LED Light with Incandescent - 100W or 300W?

Rob, thanks very much. I think I probably prefer slightly dim vs. overly bright.

Replacing Jandy 12V LED Light with Incandescent - 100W or 300W?

Hi Rob - thanks for the reply. I found an old photo, because the shape is irregular. The red arrows indicate the light locations. The green line is about 23' long and I think the yellow lines are ~13' long. The finish is a light/medium blue pebble sheen.

Replacing Jandy 12V LED Light with Incandescent - 100W or 300W?

Chris - the tech specs on the Watercolors (my existing LED) and the Jandy incandescent are the same: "ETL listed to be installed in ProNiche or other manufacturer's niches", so I think the incandescent units should be fine in the standard Jandy niche? Kim - thanks, look forward to a response!

Replacing Jandy 12V LED Light with Incandescent - 100W or 300W?

Hi - I posted previously about my Jandy LED Watercolor Lights dying within ~3 years. I have decided to fully replace each light unit with the 12V incandescent lights, which come in 100W and 300W versions. First, does anyone know if the 100W and 300W lights are the same light units, just...

    Stenner Pump stopped working

Agree with both posts above. My typical routine is to check the tube (just replaced) and to check the duckbill (usually clogs about once a year). I keep extra ferrules, duckbills, tubes, and after I had to have one pump rebuilt after the rollers wouldn't lock, now I have an extra pump on...

Replace LED Lights with 12V incandescent? (Jandy Watercolors)

Thanks for the replies. For further clarification, the Jandy LED lights use what they call a 'light engine', not LED bulbs. The light engine is $650 to purchase as a replacement part. Considering that one of mine went out after around two years and the other in four years, I'm looking at...

Replace LED Lights with 12V incandescent? (Jandy Watercolors)

My pool (4 years old) has Jandy Watercolor LED lights: 2 pool and one spa lights, all 12V. I hardly ever use the lights, but do need them occasionally. One pool light went out after about 2 years and the other went out this week when I turned it on. The spa light still works. As has been...
