Why are the values for SI between the dial in my Taylor K-2006C and as calculated in the pool math app so different?

Here are my test results from last night: FC: 8.0 PH: 7.2 TA: 80 CH: 1000 CYA: 37 Temp: 70F (estimated) SI (using the dial in my test kit): 0.11 SI (Pool match calculated): -0.05 Why are the above values for SI so different?

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

Killer95Stang: Thanks for your feedback. Good to hear that even with high CH one can still prevent scaling and manage proper water balance. Sounds like you have a salt pool and I'm strongly thinking about going that direction as it seems like it would be significantly less work. I am so DONE...

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

JamesW: In response to your question, "Are you getting a good test result now?", I am still working to be completely confident. My CH is at least 700 and it's challenging to clearly see just when the color has stopped changing to a different shade of blue. Probably the bottom line here is...

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

JamesW: Here's a youtube link that I used to get myself started on this: And, I've been looking into this a bit since I decided $50 was too much to pay. There are lot's of good ideas out there on this. I know I've spent more than $50 trying to figure out just the right parts to buy to bring...

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

From the 1st video, "Count the number of drops added until no further color change". This is the key idea. When the CH is very high, it helps to use the directions, "when it is anticipated the CH will be very high".

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

Thanks, JamesW! I didn't get a Speedstir magnetic Stirrer because I felt $50 was pricey for it. I built my own. Doug

Proper endpoint detection for CH test?

Hi all, My CH is very high and I want to ensure I know how to properly measure it. It is somewhere between 700 and 1000, I think. The color needs to change from red to blue, right? Is it when it just starts to change? Or, is it when it stops changing and is blue? I think I read somewhere that it...

    Which SWG is/are the best?

Does one usually still use Chlorine Tablets for that?

    Which SWG is/are the best?

Thank you, mguzzy for that! If one has a SWG, does one have to worry about CYA?

    Which SWG is/are the best?

I just got the Taylor k2006c test kit. I will measure the CSI. I don't have automation other than the timer that runs my pump and it runs 12 hours/day. Thanks for your reply, Marty! Doug

    Which SWG is/are the best?

I have a couple of questions here. First, it seems like this is a really good way to go. Seems like having chlorine generated on demand would be a lot less headaches than my current situation where my tap water is pretty hard, I believe (I will measure the hardness to know for sure) but I've...

How to replace one of the 4 rubber seals in a Dolphine Deluxe 5

Well, I am now going to answer my own question. I found an answer on-line and here are my directions to replace the seal: You need to remove the two screws that keep the propeller cover in place. Then you should remove the propeller cover. Next, remove the 4 screws that keep the top, main...
