    Cleaning Hayward sand filter

Thank you. Laterals look good. We had started taking the sand out. Oh my!! Nasty 🤮. Should we add any chlorine to the filter? I found this because I was in the middle of a SLAM and was not getting 2 off the 3 tests. Dead algae in the bottom of the pool and loosing chlorine over night.

    Cleaning Hayward sand filter

There doesn’t seem to be much sand in the filter. Also the pvc that the radials are attached to came up when we removed the maxiflo valve. Feel like things are not correct. Help! :(.

This is my light. I have no idea of how to remove. I am maintaining the pool while hubby isn’t home. I am sure he would be able to remove. I am sure I can do it. I will do some research. Thanks again Marty.

I will. Thanks again. I don't watch but to do this again. It's a lot of work. Definitely worth it when you finally pass the 3 tests. Which I did this morning! I am on to the next step!

    The dreaded mustard algae-i think

No leaves. When the lawn guy cuts, I skim the clippings out of the water right away. This was the first morning after I elevated the fc for the slam. we get the pollen, that spring stuff is gone around here. I thought it strange that these spot showed up the next morning after the elevated fc...

    The dreaded mustard algae-i think

I am really not seeing anything on the pool deck etc. I know this seemed to come after the rain. Or maybe I just didn't notice till then. I am on a corner lot, we have open fields and a grape vineyard across the road. We are also close enough to the river that we can hear the boats, ski-doos...

    The dreaded mustard algae-i think

I just read this again. So reading it, since I am at shock level, this is not mustard algae. At least that is the way I interrupt it. This appears to be moving on the surface of the water and it is brown in color. May I ask if I am correct that it is pollen? Sorry, I just want to make sure...
