    Opened Pool - Cloudy Water

Hi All Hoping that everyone is getting excited for another great pool season! Historically I have never had cloudy water when opening my pool, however this year - no such below. Here is the background... I live in Michigan and my pool has been closed with a solid tarp all winter, two weeks...

Advice on Testing for the Colorblind

Hey @Gunner02 !! I'm also terribly colorblind, and while not this groups preferred method of testing I use a sensafe digital pool meter and have had no issues. Note that the sensafe is NSF/ANSI 50 L1 Certified unlike the Lemotte https://sensafe.com/pool-exact-ez-photometer-starter-kit/ Below...

    In ground pool cover

Agreeing with what the others have said, the cover is far too small and should be laying against the water. Below is a copy of mine - you can see how deep it goes and how you need to account for the overlap, this way when it snows and melts it is not adding weight to the cover so it will not tear

    Solar Cover Disintegrated

I'm on my 6th season with mine. Noting it is a super heavy 16 mil blanket. When not in the pool, we have a cover that goes over it. The cover is basically a tarp with velco down the center, I dont recall where we found it online. We use the same cover for storage during the harsh Michigan...

I currently use the Pool eXact and its been a game changer for me personally - not having to bother the wife to help me determine...

As an update, with the pump now circulating the newly added water, CY is way down and closer to the drop that I expected: CYA: 69 FAC: 2.1 ALK: 74 pH: 7.7

Trouble Balancing Pool - just opened

Thanks, agree that i also expected a larger drop in CYA but either way glad it is closer to normal range now. Will most definitely be moving away from the tablets! I've been taking a water sample from the deep end of the pool, only collecting a bottled sample once the bottle is at full arms...

Trouble Balancing Pool - just opened

Thanks Wireform, Unfortunately color marker based test kits are challenging for me as i'm severely colorblind which severely impacts my ability to gauge the color variations of a test kit such as the TF-100, this is actually partially how I landed up receiving Pool Exact Photometer which is the...

Trouble Balancing Pool - just opened

Hi all, I am hoping to get some guidance, I've had my pool for about 7 years now and have never had chemical issues before, until opening this year. I opened the pool 5/16, filled it up (city water), used my normal go-to brand of 3" chlorine tablets in a floater, and let everything...
