Agreeing with what the others have said, the cover is far too small and should be laying against the water. Below is a copy of mine - you can see how deep it goes and how you need to account for the overlap, this way when it snows and melts it is not adding weight to the cover so it will not tear

I'm on my 6th season with mine. Noting it is a super heavy 16 mil blanket. When not in the pool, we have a cover that goes over it. The cover is basically a tarp with velco down the center, I dont recall where we found it online. We use the same cover for storage during the harsh Michigan...

@Stoopalini , I am severely colorblind as well, I know that the Taylor kits are great and I do own one, but for me the game changer was being offered a photometer. I currently use the Pool eXact and its been a game changer for me personally - not having to bother the wife to help me determine...

As an update, with the pump now circulating the newly added water, CY is way down and closer to the drop that I expected: CYA: 69 FAC: 2.1 ALK: 74 pH: 7.7

Thanks, agree that i also expected a larger drop in CYA but either way glad it is closer to normal range now. Will most definitely be moving away from the tablets! I've been taking a water sample from the deep end of the pool, only collecting a bottled sample once the bottle is at full arms...
